I've looked in the Dell User Manuals for the E7440 and the E7450 and the dimensions, voltage and even the weight are identical.

See the attached pages from the manuals.

I await the outcome and will be interested in what run time you get. However, since I had already bought a spare 47Whr battery I can't justify getting a slightly higher capacity one.

Interestingly, when you go on Dell's website and order the battery, it's $110 for most buyers, but you can also buy one as a government entity and it's $25 cheaper, so that's what I did. Yesterday, I got an email from Dell asking which government entity I was and not wanting to lie, I played dumb and said it was just me, asking if there was a problem, but they still gave me the discounted pricing, so it was about $90 shipped.

I can report the 54w battery does indeed fit and work in the E7440. With an extra 20 of wattage, I'm hoping for a nice increase, but I've go to charge it before doing any testing.

That's great! Thanks for letting us know.

Your success has inspired me to order the 52Whr battery for the e7250 to try on my e7240. I will report back when it gets here. I bought it from aliexpress, so it'll take a couple of weeks.

I'm happy to hear that I my hunch was correct.

Could you check, using BatteryInfoView or similar battery software, whether the Fully Charged Capacity is equal (or greater) than the Design capacity? I've got two of the E7440 batteries that are nominally 47Whr but won't take more than 44Whr.

I'm very interested to hear how you get on, obviously if it works and also what improvement there is in batterylife.

I've been testing for the last week or so, I'm getting a solid seven and half hours with the screen set to slightly over half brightness, WiFi on and balanced power mode selected.

What is the Dell part number on the 7450 battery?
