Latitude E7240 and E7440

No news yet; the Dell Premier page is terribly slow at the moment. I have a feeling that our account team is too busy putting out fires to reply.

That Latitude E7240 that I posted earlier is priced at $2,498.57; our discounted price is $1,699.03. That's essentially what we were paying for the previous-generation E6230. Hoping to have an update by the end of the day.

I agree though; the E7440 prices look ridiculous considering the internals.

 

Premier now shows the i7-4600U as option for the E7440. fully loaded unit is about $1600 through premier. which is about a 40% discount from what they are listing as retail

 

I'm getting the E7240 with 1920x1080 screen, i5-4300U CPU, 8GB memory and 256GB SSD. Fingerprint reader also

If you have a login to Premier directly, could you share what the configuration options are for the E7440? Want to guide my IT department....

Where did you get the option for 1920x1080 screen! I can't find it it's so frustrating that the only models offered have 4GB RAM and super crappy 1366x768 res screens?

 

I can see options for 1920x1080 screens for both the E7240 and E7440 in Premier. I have both machines in hand right now. My E7240 has the 1366x768 screen which is indeed super crappy. The E7440 has the 1920x1080 screen which is IPS

 

Please make a video of both machines. Tell us about battery-life, keyboard, build quality and especially noise. Thank you so much!

 

I have asked Dell for an offer but I sure would like your (video) feedback!
I have read the user guide but I'm still not sure: is it possible to install both a hard drive and an m-sata drive?
Also, does the 4 cell battery take as much space as the 3 cell battery or visibly more?
