Mechanical faults are hard to overcome. If the drive was accessing the disc, perhaps some software tool could help recover the data. It is curious that you were able to see a partition, but not the system partition. Perhaps try again later after the drive has been OFF and cooled down. Maybe try holding it in different orientations. Anything to get your data off.

I usually see that problem if the HDD + enclosure need more power than one USB port can deliver. Have you got / tried a Y-cable that can take power from two USB ports.

Right-clicked the "Windows Explorer" icon in the taskbar, pulled up a folder from it.

It opened the folder but then gave me some Visual C++ runtime error and restarted explorer.

    Thoughts on what this is?

Anyone know the make/model of the Latitude E6510 internal webcam and where I can purchase it (along with the LCD bezel for the camera window)? Thanks!

Hello, I was doing so search on WXGA 1366X768 for Dell Part number R869R. This seems to be a LG display with LG model number LP156WH2.

When I search it online I come across lots of models like LP156WH2(TP)(B1) and LP156WH2(TL)(A1) they all have the same descriptions. Any ideas what is the real difference between (TP)(B1) and (TL)(A1).

LG display site does not list such models, on the site the only thing listed is LP156WH2.

    Thanks,

    Nope. Perhaps a passing glitch.

That one doesn't have the window for the camera. I haven't been able to find any that do. The camera doesn't appear to be available anywhere yet either.

I'd love to know if anyone's been successful in installing a webcam on the 6510 yet.

My laptop shall be complete then!

    Just found out something annoying.

Dell E6510 won't read the Memorex Black CD-Rs with theDVD RW/W.

I popped it out and replaced it with the DVD RW from the E6500 and it works fine.

Have newer Dell DVD RW Drives dropped support for the black CD-Rs?

The part number on the new drive is: DU-8A3S. The old one is DU-8A2S.
