Has anyone tried using this laptop for 3D-work like Maya, rendering and other heavy applications?

It would be best to have the Nvidia Quadro solution which is equivalent to a Geforce 310 Mobile.

    Ok.. Got mine..

    See my sig for specs...

It seemed to be sluggish when the system arrived from Dell... Performed a clean install and... I must say it seems snappy....

I have not had a change to push her yet.. I plan to run a 3DMark benchmark... (It only scored around 3500 when it arrived with a factory install)

Does anyone know how to get the ControlVault Fingerprint reader to login to Windows 7 Pro?

WWAN, WAN, and ON Flash can all operate at the same time. The E6410 also supports all three simultaneously.

I've received my E6510 about 2 weeks ago.

    FHD screen
    i7 620M
    6 cell.

I get 3.5 hours off a full charge doing browsing and installing apps etc...brightness slightly reduced.

the FHD screen is fantastic and super bright. I find I need to reduce the brightness when using the laptop in a dark room; otherwise it strains the eyes. Illumination is nice and even.

I love this computer. The keyboard took a few days to get used to, but now i type fast and with few errors.

If anyone is interested, I ordered it with 2gb of ram and a 320gb HDD, since I was planning on buying 4gb of ram on newegg and an SSD.

the ram that came was 2 sticks of 1gb ELPIDA 2Rx16 PC3-8500S-7-10-A1

the 320GB HDD was a WD Scorpio Black!

If you got the fingerprint reader.. DONT use it! It requires ControlVault software which is a HOG..

Machine was blazing fast after clean install - after I setup fingerprint reader it was DOG SLOW... Still trying to remove all of it....

Hi all, I am using now D830 for a couple of years

    1) anybody missing the cute popup menu keyboard button? i am heavy excel user... mouse right button is not an alternative as mouse cursor can be over different window/program

    2) in FHD when connected via remote desktop, is remote desktop session readable?

    3) I used to work 50% of time docked to external monitor (24"), lid closed. Is HD led invisible when lid is down? Someone reported it but issue seemed to be ignored here.

    4) anybody suffering exaggerated red, common on E6500?

    Regards
