Would anyone know what driver from Dell Support I would need for on-screen display for volume, brightness, etc?

Edit: Found the utility. It is called Control Point for any who might be wondering. Getting this E6510 prepped for sales. Will surely miss the screen and build on it for sure!

Thank you for taking the effort turqoisegirl08 :)

I rolled back the updates, but it hadn't fixed it. Then I started the computer later in the day and it was fixed. I'm guessing it may have to do with a faulty RAM module.

I wonder if the latest RAM sticks work with these laptops. I'll see what I can find.

Before I start pelting you with questions.... I am in the process of reading all 60+ pages!
    My problem is:
My Nvidia NVS 3100M driver keeps crashing, I've wiped Windows 7 X64, and still having the same issue..

    Specs are: E6510 (duh)
    I5-580M
    8GB Ram
    2 batteries
    130 watt power adapter
    Verizon WWAN
    Intel 6300

Currently on Win 7 X64 Ultimate SP1 and getting ready to sell it of this isn't fixed... I'm on the latest Nvidia driver and Bios. Everything is up to date at this time.

Have you tried installing the E6510 NVIDIA driver directly from the Dell Support website? If not uninstall the one that is currently giving you issues and try the one from Dell Support to see if it makes any difference. I once tried the latest stable offering directly from NVIDIA and wound up having to reinstall my OS.

Yes, I have tried the Dell version. The screen flickers with the Dell version. The Nvidia version crashes... I sold my E6510 today, now on to the next Latitude... Lol

Sorry for wasting your time!! I would like to know if anyone found/finds a solution though since I know about a dozen people who are ready to chunk their 6510s...
I've tried multiple installs but always end up with a flicker or crash.

I've only had the one E6510 and it had very few issues. I'm trying to remember if I did anything special with it. My routine was a clean install of a vanilla W7 followed by just a handful of drivers from Dell's website. I really like a lean install vs the bloated mess that often exist in some laptops. I've since sold my E6510 as well not because it was problematic but I needed the $$$. I remember only one issue with my unit and that was waking it from sleep. It would wake to a dark screen and I had to do a hard shutdown and restart it. Never did get a chance to look into it though.

Ok guys new to the forum but not New to repairing Dell's. I have an issue with no backlight at all. I cracked open the laptop and started to think it was an LCD inverter but this model has the led screen. I found a site that says it may be a fuse that is blown but the only one I found goes to the display port. Not the vga port so I don't think that is the bad one. Anybody else have this issue and if so what did u do to fix it. My model has the led screen with an icore 7.

    Good morning !
I'm currently having some trouble with a E6510 i'm trying to get to work again.
The installed windows couldnt boot (infinite bootloop), and not a single repair method worked. I'm now giong for a fresh windows x64 install in legacy mode. Unfortunately the installation is stuck for like an hour now at Completing Installation ...
Mouse still works and progression dots are still moving, but progression is completely stuck.
I'm lost here, any suggestion ?

FYI : HDD has been checked, no errors, same for RAM
    Thank you for your help
