thanks john but there isnt the Patriot warp

Because hdd also uses power to spin the disk

Or is the heat proportional to the power usage?

I would expect any recent SSD to use less power than a HDD. The main source of power consumption (= heat : Watts in as electricity = Watts out as heat)) of an HDD is the motor to spin the discs, followed by the motor which moves the heads. The discs keep spinning unless the drive powers down, which is rare. The peak power consumption of an SSD only happens if a lot of data is being read / written but in between any data flows the drive can quickly go to sleep.

Therefore, under normal usage conditions the average SSD power consumption will be less than the HDD. This average power saving may be no more than 1W, which would add 10% to the battery run time if the average total power consumption is 10W.

    Hey guys,
I went to Dell website to check drivers.. smart as I am, I decided to look at both E6400 and E6410 drivers for Win7 64-bit. And here is what I found:
Updated drivers for the same hardware found on the E6410 driver section.

I installed the new IDT drivers witch presented with a minor update on the IDT control panel, nothing of great interest. I don't know about Audio via Display Port as I can't test that.

I found new Alps drivers, which seams to works better then the one on available on E6400 section. Also, I noticed that i doesn't block Windows cursor animation any longer, so that is a big up.

I found AHCI Intel drivers, something very welcomed, now finally replacing Windows built-in drivers. HDD related tasks feels a tad faster, but I have no benchmark to show if it's a placebo effect or real.

Moreover, there is a new Dell Control Point update. This one has bug fixes over the E6400 section, now when you unplug your laptop and set it to reduce automatically you refresh rate of your screen down to 40Hz, it can restore it back to 60Hz as soon as you plug your system back in. (before it was staying at 40Hz).

In addition, there is a new Ethernet Controller driver.

You can get all of these here:
    http://support.dell.com/support/dow...bIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False

Of course, install and use at your own risk. For me everything above works fine, but don't blame me if it doesn't for you.

Now all it's missing is Ambient light sensor and contact-less card reader drivers.

I installed a lot of the E6410 drivers/apps. Upgraded my security drivers, firmware and app to go along with the touchpad and audio.

I must say that this new set-up of mine has the fan on more often than I'd like it to. The fan's quite loud, and I currently have Pidgin, and 7 tabs in Firefox open at the moment. But I guess it's to be expected with the HDD? I believe I'm running the A20 Bios.

And with GoodBytes' insight, I bought a 9 cell, which was definitely a good call. Thanks again.

Do you people get a delay from the touchpad only not the pointing stick when it has been at rest
it reacts after 2 seconds only
10 minutes ago it wasnt reacting at all i hat to restart the computer
Im looking for a newer driver

    Figured it out
Its a function where you have to tap it to use it
    To avoid accidental movement
    Theyve thought of "everything"
