Try a different mouse or USB port... perhaps the shielding on the mouse cable or port is leaking some noise signal.

    Are they wireless headphones?

Does it happen when running on battery power only with no AC charger connected?

Just finished the upgrade from Vista to 7 - went smooth doing a custom installation. One question I have though - during the installation I was asked what disk I wanted to install on. Seems that there is a 30GB OEM partition on my HDD, how can I recover that space? Or is that something that just needs to be there?

    Thanks

Start the Win7 install and use the drive options to delete all existing partitions, create and format one new partition, and proceed to install Win7 on it. Win7 will set aside a small partition for its use, so you will end up with it plus your main system partition, c:.

Damn - not sure I want to spend a few hours reinstalling again. I am guessing that if I do not do anything and leave that 30GB partition all I lose is the 30GB on my HDD? Or would it be better for performance to just reinstall and get rid of the partition?

    Appreciate the help with this.

Finished BIOS update, still the same problem. Well I want the mouse on the right side and the 2 ports on the right side of laptop both of them make noise. They are not wireless headphones. It happens all the time.

Any other way to fix this?

Did you try a different USB mouse? Do you have Blue Tooth... could switch to a BT mouse.

Does it happen when running on battery power only with no AC charger connected?

Goodbytes , thos lags youre talking about are when a program is started, for example shortly after startup, ive got incredible slowdowns, firefox takes 30 seconds to start
Or when i open a folder with many files
    i tried defragment

will a ssd solve this problems? im sure it will just listening to another opinion.
im thinking about a mushkin deluxe 120gb calisto best performance, capacity for a price
i heard there may be some compatibility issues

and im not in the US so i cant ship it back to return it.

Has anybody tried it with e6400?
What about another comparable price capacity performance SSD?
    Thanks

Try another mouse and pair of headphones, by turn
to see where the problem is
