    Thank you John!
Any requirements for the mini display to HDMI to work at 60hz?
I meant if it is ok that I leave the power cord in the wall socket, even if it is not connected to the laptop?

I don't have any first-hand experience of this but I would be looking for adapters with an indication of HDMI 2 / 4k compatibility. Google shows that these exist but have a price premium.
No problem. The PSU will use a negligible amount of electricity. However, if you have bad quality mains power with spikes and surges then it is prudent to keep this PSU (and any other devices) unplugged when not in use to reduce the risk of a power surge causing damage.

Sorry I have one more issue. The laptop getting very hot even when I just start it. HWmonitor shows ~70c. Prime 95 stress test for 10 minutes, temperature stay ~ 87. Is it normal? I have win7 installed. Cant find all the drivers from dell.com:(

That is hotter than I would expect.

You can get all the drivers and other software for your notebook by entering the service tag into the Dell support site. Start by making sure that the BIOS is up-to-date then install the software listed under Chipset; System Utilities and System Management.

But was Win 8.1 the Dell factory installation which would have had all the software required for optimum system management pre-installed? Win 10 will install drivers but not the manufacturers' software.

Have your run a program such as HWiNFO to check that the CPU speed is carying to suit the workload? A CPU which is continuously running at its full non-turbo speed will be quite hot. And someone, somewhere in the forum recently had a broken Windows 10 update which was causing this type of problem. Task Manager shows CPU utilisation but not speed. 25% utilisation is equivalent to one core running fully loaded but Task manager doesn't take account of CPU speed.

Actually, it does show speed (look on the left sidebar rather than in the top-right corner.

Thanks. That's on the Performance tab while the processes tab just gives a percentage.

I tested under win 10 too. With all the proper dirvers installed I believe. Idle is ~47, full load with 2.9g is ~88 for 5 minutes
I wonder if there is a way to get the factory reset iso, after I completely clean the drive in diskpart.
My main concern is, is 47 idle temperature OK?

You can see if you can get a recovery image from here. However, it says it's not available for my service tag.

47C on idle is fine. If the fan is running, it will be running very slowly. The system doesn't try to cool the hardware down to room temperature. It would be hard work and also increase the thermal stress on the components. I have checked my records and find that my E7440 (which has a very similar cooling system to the non-dGPU version of the E7450) peaked at 88C when running wPrime 1024. My dGPU E7450 doesn't get above 80C because it has a better cooling system.
