In the past, I've noticed that the Latitude 5xx0 too, only came with a 1 year warranty while the 74x0 had 3 years.

I've been happy with the performance of the core m5/8GB/256GB machines I have, it's just the 2 in 1 aspect of them has been a bit annoying as the Latitude 13 7350 is very unbalanced and the Latitude 11 5175 goes the other way and it's quite bulky as a laptop.

Crucially though I think this is the only chance to get a decent Core-m laptop as looking at the new ranges of laptops, I'm not seeing any Core-m machines at all and even tablets now seem to be opting for the ULV platform as well. In some ways I can't blame companies, the Core-m has picked up a terrible reputation from a lot of misleading reviews leaving users believing the Core-m is some expensive but very low performance processor and the ULV platform offers performance to rival a desktop.

I'd noticed they had daily deals on the outlet this week starting with some of the home systems and then the Optiplex yesterday so had my fingers crossed it would reach the Latitudes.

I suspect it's a mistake to try and work out the logic Dell are using, I can't understand it either. If anything, the 7370 should be much less likely to have problems after a year as it has no active cooling system which means no build of dust, overheating components etc. which are likely to affect any actively cooled laptops after a while.

The 7370 is finally here and seems good so far, it feels pretty much what I wanted from the infinityedge XPS 13 as it's a less flashy fan less version. The screen seems eerily large with the small bezel and still expecting a fan to kick in.

I now understand the posts about the 30W PSU as I'm getting the same warning with the Latitude 11/12 USB-C charger which I'm puzzled by as both those machines are almost identical hardware (actually slightly higher as they both have LTE), is Dell just being more cautious with the 7370?

I was looking at the ebay link for the larger battery and I'm thinking it might be worth going for, I'm concerned though at a cheap 'genuine' battery from China isn't genuine - what are your thoughts? How easy is it to fit the battery, I've checked the laptop and I can't see any security features so I assume it's good for the bigger battery.

    Thanks,
    John

The 7370 power demand can exceed 30W if the battery is being charged and the CPU is running its short burst of high power. However, the system is clever enough to cut back on the battery charging so that the total power demand stays within the rated PSU capacity.

As for that ebay source of the 43Whr battery, the only way to find out whether it is good is to buy one. It's quite plausible that more were manufactured than needed so there might be some surplus (but the ebay cost is still below the likely production cost). Or they might be out of specification. The 43Whr battery I bought of ebay (which appeared to be one that was bought by someone who wanted to upgrade their battery and then discovered it wouldn't fit) is only 40.85Whr. I don't have the details but recall that the supplied 34Whr battery was also below the rated capacity (run BatteryInfoView to check the fully charged capacity).
