Latitude 7370

I've had a read through the article thanks, answers my question about price as well as I see you got an outlet discount.

I've been keeping an eye on the outlet prices but they're pretty high at £900+, I think ideally I'd be after the Core m5/8GB/256GB/FHD sort of spec scratch and dent but I think even that would be around £800 which is around twice the price I paid off the Outlet for the Latitude 11/13 even though they were better spec (WWAN and double batteries). I think maybe unless there's an outlet discount it's probably not worth going for.

The time to buy one of these was last August(?) when there was a 50% coupon - I was tempted to buy a second 7370! This 7370 on ebay is from Dell Outlet and is 10% cheaper than the equivalent on Outlet (and both have the FPR so won't take the 43Whr battery). However, it's not a bargain. I've seen a couple of 7380s briefly appear at the Outlet but they don't stay long since the pricing is similar to the 7370. The underlying problem is, I think, that Intel's pricing of the Core m CPUs didn't reflect the lower performance.

Core-m pricing is similar to the equivalent ULV's but the real price I guess could be higher due to the lack of popularity. Outlet prices don't seem great at the moment, the Latitude 11 and 13 which are both core m5/8GB/256GB/1080p/LTE and were £420/£480 respectively. I have been looking at the ebay 7370's as I did get a good deal on the Latitude 12 from there although the ebay ones seem pricey and mostly have minimal warranty or no warranty (and a removed service tag) which seems odd to me as I thought these machines would have the three year warranty by default. I would be tempted if they were cheap but they're not much cheaper than the Dell ones.

I did notice the 7280 prices which are a little annoying as they seem a fair bit cheaper than the 7370s.

Well almost bought a 7370 off the outlet, an i7, 16GB ram, 512GB SSD and 1080p screen until I realised the warranty is one year, not three as I thought it was for Latitude 7000's.

 

I think it might only be the Precisions which now come with 3 year warranty as standard. Dell UK made the change over a year ago since my 7370 went out of warranty a few days ago. I wondered at the time of purchase whether to pay for a longer warranty but decided that there's not a lot to go wrong with this notebook. I would keep watching the outlet in case Dell releases a 7370 coupon. The two 7370's currently listed (one is scratch and dent with a £60 saving) probably have the carbon fibre display back as there's no mention of aluminium.

I thought the same about waiting for a coupon and finally today there is one, 15% off so went to order up a 7370 and none there :'( Will just have to keep an eye out for it.

I hadn't realised Dell had reduced the warranties, I'd found they had reduced the 5000 series warranties but at the time the 7000's still had the three year warranty. It makes the ebay 7370's worth considering again as I was thinking saving some money wasn't worth it when losing the three year warranty but if it's only a one year warranty that's not so much of a loss.

 

The 74x0 in the US still come with the 3 year warranty.

 

Order placed - core m5, 8GB, 256GB and 1080p for £672. I'll keep an eye out to see if any others crop up but I think unless there was either a much cheaper scratch and dent with the same spec or a larger SSD I think think will do me fine. Not fussed about the core m7, 16GB ram, a wwan card or any security features and if I want more storage I can at least add that down the line.

 

Seems to be the same here, will just need to check carefully in future when choosing PC's.

That's a good spec for normal usage. I hope it fulfils your needs. If you haven't got any security devices then the 43Whr battery will fit. Higher capacity SSDs are slowly working their way down the price ladder.

I hadn't seen the 15% off coupon since it's not listed on Dell's main deal page. However, I see it on the twitter feed. Not that I'm considering buying anything at the moment.

I've just checked UK Outlet stock and a 7480 has 3 year warranty but the 7370 has only 1 year. A bit peculiar since the notebooks have similar pricing. Is it that Dell expects the 7370 to give problems after a little over a year?!
