Just ordered my 6430u, Core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB mSATA SSD, all for 591GBP ex VAT in the UK outlet. Very pleased with that spec/price.

Now to sell the XPS 14 UltraBook. :)

Anyone else having problems with the VGA output? On one monitor the display was awful, looked like it was clocking at 30Hz (your could see visible scan lines in the image and it was flickering) and over-driven at the same time. On a projector this week I had another issue that meant I could not change the resolution from 1366x768 when connected as a desktop extended display. If I ran it as dual display (external+LCD duplicated) I coud change the resolution. The projector was natively 1024x768 and as a result the image was compressed and powerpoint looked comically narrow and tall - I was running in presenter mode with the powerpoint on the second external projector. A colleagues regular Dell 6500 had no issues.

I'm starting to think the whole video output on this laptop is poorly designed. I've not been able to connect 3 monitors (HD4000 graphics support it - see upthread), I've had problems connecting via DVI to an external 32" monitor that worked fine with 2 other machines and now this latest set of issues. Not too impressed right now as good, reliable projector connectivity is a must, I travel 50-75% of my time to customer sites.....

Log it with Dell. Sounds like you have a duff system board to me.

Maybe, maybe not. Looking for other owners to chime in. Although I have a full on-site warranty, I have never seen a technician who puts a notebook back exactly the way it came from the factory, and many times I've seen them do more harm than good. Can you comment on your VGA output?

I'll test when it arrives Friday and will let you know. I'm guessing most owners must be director types, who don't visit this forum. Either that or Dell has only sold a dozen :)

Agreed, I find the lack of G2 on this notebook to be slightly worrying...!

Ok, so next stupid question. I have the 1601 WiGig and in device manager I have an entry under bluetooth devices for a Dell Wireless 1601 Bluetooth Device but for the life of me I cannot see a single Bluetooth device, even when the iPhone not 3" from the 6430u can see the keyboard I am trying to connect to. Chatter on the web seems to indicate that the 1601 is not compatible with the 380 adapter, OK, understand, but I don't have a 380 adapter (at least not one that's listed) and I do have a 1601 bluetooth device. Perhaps it isn't a BT controller? Why then do I have a bluetooth devices entry in the dock bar and can scan for devices. I'm confused!?@!

I really did want BT as I have a ton of mice and keyboards I would like to connect. I'm starting to get frustrated with this machine.....
