Possibly, though none of the slots has any problem with non-ecc memory.

I read clearing CMOS might solve the problem. Does anyone know how to clear the CMOS on 7710? I unplugged the coin battery for more than an hour or so and pressed the power button for a minute or two but I am not sure if it did the clearing.

Hi - quick question, I've tried searching and can't find any information.. I have a Precision 7710 with the M5000M card and the 'UltraSharp' FHD panel (it was purchased via the Dell Outlet).

The machine is great on the whole, very quick and whilst the screen itself is OK for day to day work but has absolutely terrible response times for animation / films / games. Gets incredibly blurred with fast moving scenes etc.

Is it possible to swap this panel out for the UHD screen (or a superior FHD screen?) - Does anyone know if model B173ZAN01 is the correct 4k screen for the 7710?

AFAIK, both the FHD and UHD on 7710 are IPS panels which usually have slow response time. Their advantages reside elsewhere.

Any word on if the 7710 or 7510 will get Polaris/Pascal based cards?

Also, what battery runtimes are IGZO/UHD machines getting?

I had the same issue with Crucial ECC 2x16GB modules. Crucial is aware of the issue in certain batches. They replaced them.

The GPUs will not be refreshed until a new model of Precision launches. It may be possible to upgrade the GPU yourself if you can find a compatible card. I've been keeping an eye on Pascal. GeForce 1070 and 1080 are too large to fit in the existing 17" Precisions. Still not sure about 1060 or mobile Quadros (haven't been able to find details).

Ah, I just returned them to B&H for a refund. I was actually communicating with the Crucial support team on the matter and they didn't mention that they were aware of the problem. They suggested some general ideas such as resetting the BIOS, rearranging the memories in slots, clearing the CMOS. They kept saying transition from non-ECC to ECC memory is not straightforward implicating there is a way to make things work that I am supposed to know yet, without telling me what that solution is!!!

Since, Dell doesn't mention 2400 modules as compatible with this model, I ordered some 2133 ECC Samsung modules elsewhere. The only drag is they are 8GB modules meaning I will be capped at 32GB (but that's OK; I don't think I will need more on my laptop).

I believe you mean Hynix not Hyundai (which is a Korean car manufacturer, by the way, lol). I was looking for these modules but have realized it's not easy to find them for sale. There is an Ebay seller who had the 16gb modules for sale for a good price not long time ago but they are sold out now. I ended up buying the 8GB version from the same seller.
