i was having sleep issues as well with my 7710. sfc /scannow showed that my system files were corrupted. my system was set to reboot on bsod.

do you have any *.dmp files in C:\Windows?

I ended up doing a clean reinstall a day ago. so far so good

hi, no. I didn't see any dmp files in windows folder. My OS is a dell installed OS/image. perhaps that is the answer though, I may do that eventually.

I called in to the reseller's tech support yesterday on a different issue. With regard to the gpu, they told me that prosupport (in usa) switched out the motherboard and gpu. I guess prosupport stuck around to make sure the gpu was recognized after the hardware switch. I don't know any more details

I think my sleep issue was worse -- the laptop was having a bsod once a day. Bsod would usually happen when laptop was idle for at least 15 minutes.

Btw, bios update 1.3.12 is ok for me so far.

Interestingly enough, the nvme ssd didn't initially show up on a clean reinstall via a usb key. The reseller's tech walked me through the installation of the nvme driver so that the ssd could show up.

Darn, sorry that didn't work. I ordered the fingerprint reader, I believe it is a FIPS because you press your entire finger on it instead or sliding your finger across it?

I've been having issues as well. It works, but sometimes after restart or a cold boot, it won't work on the login screen and I have to disable/enable it in the device manager or restart and it will start working again.

no BSOD for me yet at all. I usually keep my lappy open on my desk and put into sleep each night until next morning (works fine). It is only when I wake in the morning, unplug it while it is in sleep and then put the laptop into my bag when I go out the door. It is when I unplug it after it has gone into sleep that it want to reboot when I reopen the laptop. weird. I'll resolve it eventually I'm sure, jut that I'm too lazy to reinstall OS now or mess with it more than that. Ive got too much invested in this past week on the drives to just decide to reinstall an OS. I may upgrade the BIOS though

I had a BSOD as soon as I finished the windows 10 setup wizard. I haven't had a BSOD ever since the missing graphics card issue was fixed.

I too have been having some funky issues with sleep. One time I turned the computer on and the keyboard lit up but nothing else, no fans spinning, nothing. I turned it off by holding power, tried it again and no fans, no screen, but the keyboard was lit up. Turned it off again, but this time I held the power button down and it turned on, fans spun up real fast, then shutdown 5 seconds later. This was all while on battery power, 95% full. Plugged the power in, and booted up like a charm, and then I unplugged the power and used the battery for an hour or so with no further issues.

on my 7710, I had a BSOD on shutdown yesterday. Dump file is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE caused by ntoskrnl.exe.

Before this I notice my shutdowns are very slow. So I turned off fast start up in the power settings. Shutdown was faster. However, it was after this I got the BSOD.

I did notice previously (before changing the fast start up option) if I log out then shut down or restart, my shutdown or restart was faster than not logging out. I may just continue doing this. I have similar issues on a Tower Precision 7910 with the slow restart (says widows is restarting longer than I think it should).

Looking in event viewer, I have several Critical Events ID 41 with source of Kernel-Power.

I think it may have something to do with a device going into lower power mode. I have since switched the power setting from balanced to high performance and will see if any more Events 41 come up or if I get a BSOD.

Anybody have any issues with their 7710 locking up? My machine randomly locked up three times this week. OS was completely unresponsive. Keyboard continued to stay lit and didn't automatically dim, caps lock key would not go on or off, power button didn't do anything when pressed. I had to hold the power button down and shutdown. Every time I check the Windows Event Viewer there is absolutely no logs in the event viewer. Last log in the event viewer is fro whatever task I was doing at the time, then the next log is when the system boots back up. No log, dump file, etc.

This happened to me only once (about three weeks ago) when I tried to start. Prosupport and I thought that the machine had a bad shutdown
