There is difference between "upgrade" and "clean install". To be able to use Win7 key in Win10 you need to install Win7 first on that system (and use Win7 key), after that you could upgrade to Win10 or do clean install of Win10 (and actually it will be activated already, you won't need Win7 key). You can't do clean install of Win10 with Win7 key on the system that didn't have Win7 activated.

You can run magic jelly bean or similar program to get the actual windows key generated from oem. Oem licenses are bulk purchased windows licenses, they are full licenses still, but it doesn't show on sticker.

Right, since Windows 10 version 1511 (build 10586), released in November, Windows 10 will take Windows 7/8/8.1 keys for a clean install. It essentially follows the same rules as the Windows 10 upgrade (you can only use each key once), but it saves you the trouble of actually running the upgrade if you don't want to.

    Perfect, thanks.

About TB3: since the 7710 won't have TB3 chassis, what about its compatibility with TB3 docking station? Will be able its docking station connection to take 100% advantage of 40gbps TB3 ?
correct to say the absence of TB3 chassis (TB3 connection on the left) means is missing only a portable TB3 connection?

    thanks

You cannot use the Thunderbolt docking station if your machine does not have the Thunderbolt port. You can still use the previous generation docks like PR02X (that you set the laptop on top of).

Here are some articles on the the TB15

    http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN301075
    http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN301105

Note I had issues loading in Chrome. IE seems to work.

Also, looks like there is already newer bios than listed on one of the above pages.

    Here is the order page.

    http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=450-AEVM

Note at the bottom of the order page is states: "A system requiring more than 130 Watts must have its own power adapter attached"

This was a question I had on if you still need to connect the power to the 7710 along with the TB cable. Reading that, it appears so.

    @rinconmike @Aaron44126
    Thank you guys.
Incredible, two 7710 version, almost the "same" (not exactly, of course), same shared bios and same shared updates, but only one has TB3...

If I understood weel reading the specific of i7 6th gen, it mounts DDR4 but is compatibile with previous DDR3, correct? if yes, is it possible to use my actual DDR3 32gb Vengeance in the 7710 ?

    Thanks
    Ciao!

I believe you are correct because a thunderbolt type C can only handle about 3 amps or something like that. But I don't understand why there is a 180W and also the 240W TB15 if only 130W can power the laptop via the USB type C connector. So I'm not understanding something. I think the Dell project manager explained it in post somewhere in these forums and I'm trying to find that post.

*edit: this was the closest I could find regarding the Thunderbolt Dock and power it can supply to the laptop...

I need to understand better the advantages and limitations of the new TB docks versus the older E Dock which I already have.
