I don't know where to ask and I searched for quite some time, but will this be possible with either the m4600 or m4700?

Unfortunately it will not work on the 15" Precisions due to the them using the smaller MXM III Type A slots. The 680M requires a Type B slot that's found in the larger Precison line. Simply put, there isn't enough room in the M4600 or M4700.

Ah too bad, thanks for the info though. What's the fastest MXM III type A graphics card available?

I believe it's the K2000M for NVIDIA. Not sure about AMD.

Could you put a geforce or radeon card in there? I know these laptops are made for proffesional cards but I wonder.

Yeah you can, but not a lot of GeForce GPUs are in that form factor. I only know of the 240M and 5730M and those are very outdated and SLOW lol.

For gaming, AMD Firepro M4000 could be the fastest MXM type A card available. it is about the same as 7750M.
K2000M from Nvidia is fast too, about GT 650M.

How easy is it to remove the GPU from the M6700? Like I said before I'm looking to upgrade my K3000m to 680M but I only need it for Adobe CUDA processing.

I also have the option for a eGPU via the SC port with the ViDock+ - With the ViDock and full blown GTX 660TI/670 I think it would be on the same performance of the internal 680M and slightly cheaper option. There is some issues with that, 1 its external big and bulky and 2, there might be a issue with MAX memory in the system. Reading if you have more than 4GB/8GB it wont work, I have 32GB!

Not sure what to do
