They are offering 9% of the purchase price to keep it.
In the UK the trackpoint is standard, backlit keyboard is optional.
I have sent an email with pictures and waiting to hear back, hopefully they will reply soon. I will never buy again from the Dell outlet, if a customer returns a notebook, that is for a reason:)

Anyone gotten a 95% gamut screen or the B+RGLED screen installed in their E6520?

    Very interested in trying...

At lennartb, it costed nearly 1000Eur

I have also noticed that when the screen is closed the notebook base is not aligned with the screen cover (i.e. there is uneven gap), do you get the same?

What is your Windows rating? Mine is 5.5 (Ram is 5.5) - i7 2720,8GB ram, Quadro, FHD.

The best one that can be fitted is FHD with i7 2760.
Don't know, better so there is no need to clean the fan:)
Not much it with office/internet applications altought the fan is always on but it is not noisy, very nice machine.
I don't like the screen bezel (very wide)

I'm thinking of buying this notebook, but have couple of questions for owners:
-does 9 cell battery stand out at the back
-is the model with i5 dual core less noisy than i7 quad?
-are the FHD screen viewing angles any good for serious graphic work?
-deciding between this model and Hp's 8560w, what are your thoughts...?

thanks to anyone who might help me out

Finally got a reply from dell and I not happy, would really value your input.

1.Screen “bleeding”, i.e. screen brightness is not even across the lcd panel (pictures attached) – Not acceptable
R: Uniform brightness is not part of ARB refurbished laptop LCD requirement. Inspection angle is +/-30degree angle from perpendicular angle.

2.Base cover is not assembled correctly, thecoolinggrillprotrudesfrom the unit on the notebook left side (pictures attached) – Not acceptable

    R: Valid

    3. Almost all the bottom cover screws heads are nearly stripped (pictures attached) – Not acceptable

R: As long as screws are functional they are not exchanged. There is no cosmetic refurbishment on the systems.

4.LCD back Cover is not flush on the right corner (pictures attached) – Not acceptable

R: It is less then 1mm it is within grade 0 rules.

    5. Battery not fully charging – Not acceptable

R: Battery is not a warranty item. As long as it is functional it stays in the system.

    6. There are some scratches on the base cover and side (picture attached) – Acceptable

R: it is within grade 0 rules.

    7. Windows 7 and drivers CDs are missing

R: No driver CDs kitted any more to the system. Please check order confirmation.

    8. Keyboard trackpoint missing (picture attached) – Not acceptable

R: System is refurbished with standard 2PJKW KYBD,105,UK,BLK,ENS3 keyboard. Why customer thinks that he should get one? Please check order confirmation.

9.Screen closed not aligned to the notebook base (picture attached)

R: Designed and built like this

Because this is more of a business laptop, you can't really expect much. If it's a Precision peddling a super-premium type panel, then it should be the same regardless if it's new or not.

Uhhh, not when you can't get the damned screws off when servicing them.

Heh, maybe the original buyer sent it in for that.

Well, it depends. Some laptops turn off the charger when you're ~90~100% charge, though it depends. I'd say charge and fully discharge it a few times to see if it worsens. It could be the battery wasn't treated properly previously.

I don't think I've ever seen my 9-cell battery do that on this laptop, though (I have the 3-yr warranty one with less capacity).

I don't think refurbs usually come with the disks. You probably need to make a restore image or order one up.

You could probably download all the drivers from the Dell website anyway. The main point of contention would be the restore disk.

Uhhhh, if it says that on the description, you should be getting it.

Didn't see the pic. How far off is this?

    Thanks!

It is FHD screen with "premium panel guarantee" implying to me top quality screen.

My old Dell M70 after 6 years of abuse does not have an uneven gap when the screen is closed, E6520 picture:

Wanted to avoid wasting more time to sent it back order a new one, I should be offered a replacement or a fix...
