The original Wireless WWAN that I could have ordered with Dell is the
DELL WIRELESS 5550 WWAN (about €120). I could get a
DELL WIRELESS 5540 WWAN (used in the Latitude 6510) for about €47. Has the same PCI-card format. But what about the antennas? Any BIOS-related issues to be expected?
Does anyone know if it is compatible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rewolfer.

Yes, 9-cell battery does stick out on both E6520 and E6420 models.

To add to my ignorante question: If I add the vPro, when IT or Dell support uses it to fix my computer remotely do they have access to everything on my computer including encrypted files?

vPro is for larger enterprise IT shops that intend to manage their client PCs remotely.

I would assume anyone acccessing your PC remotely has access to its files.

New ModeUS has the new HDD Media Bay Caddy in stock and has shipped mine yesterday. I'll give a review once I get it. 1. I hope it takes a 9mm HDD 2. Fit and fitess is comparable to Dell's version.

probably a very stupid question, but i just noticed that there is no way to enable/disable an ambient light sensor (like there was on the e6x10 and e6x00 models). Does the e6520 just not HAVE one??

edit:: so i've confirmed that it was removed. and the batteries don't have charge indicators on them, and the power supply looks like we've gone back to the 1990s. all this so dell can save a few pennies, hmm??.... what crap.

Has anyone installed drivers other than for the NVS 4200 on their latitude? Or flashed the vbios? I am not really a gamer, but if I ever do run a game, it would be nice to have a profile set up, since it is basically a 520 (higher clocks?) with gimped bios and drivers.

Please let me know if anyone's done it. Thanks.

FYI - Dell A5 BIOS released. Tested:

Intel 310 Series 40GB mSATA SSD - does NOT work
Super Talent CoreStore MV 64GB - does NOT work

I'm not sure if the E6520 has the same sort of setup, but the E6420 has a WWAN and a MINI slot (turned 90 degrees). Was that in the WWAN or the MINI?

I tried both the WWAN and MINI (half-length, labeled Flash SATA) slots. The full-length card doesn't sit flat in the MINI slot, but the behavior of both SSDs is exactly the same in either slot. See my previous posts for more information.

Here's a pic of the slot configuration for the E6520:

I did not remove the WLAN card to try that slot. I doubt it would make any difference.
