Thanks for the reply. Seems like heat is well handled on this machine.

Thats not a good news imo. Can you specifically tell up to how much clock speed the CPU is throttled down.

It uses clock modification by % it throttles down in 75%, 50% steps. i suppose 25% too.

but to put that into perspective. in a real world applications it did not happen so far.

Thank you everyone for the review. I may buy a 6430 myself and I get some questions if you agree :)

Does anyone tried the 1920*1080 resolution ?

Anyone tried it with a modern game ? How does the cooling work ?

I'm interested to get this machine but my major concern that I had before with ThinkPads and I hope that it's not the same here is whether this machine throttles on battery and what is the clock speed it throttles to?

Also, I would like to know if the 1600*900 display has any cold/bluish tinge?

Last, this machine is f... expensive and I cannot find any coupons for it or special affliation discount? Any hint?

How's the battery life on the E6430? Should I get the 9-cell battery or is it not worth the extra bulk?

Also regarding battery, does the 6 cell protrude, if so, how much ?
Oh, also, which SSD does it come with, some sort of Samsung I guess ?

Just querying (in a nice way) how you know it supports 32GB? As far as I can tell from CPU specs in particular 32GB is only support via 2 DIMMs on 2 Channels i.e 8GB DIMM max, so you need like the Alienware or Precision? that have 4 slots.

I would be really happy to be wrong as I have a new E6430 on order and trying to get the right upgrade.

I notice you already have 16GB in yours - can you let me know what type? I assume it was after-market rather than spec'd on purchase.

If 32GB is supported, I'm hoping these bad boys will be compatible :D
