Those might be European parts numbers. I can't find any of those on the Dell US site. Thanks though!

Did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on this and got all the drivers installed....but the Dell Access application says there is no fingerprint reader installed. I am not missing anything in Device Manager and I literally installed everything on the Drives and Downloads page. Anyone have any thoughts?

<UPDATE>
Found a solution. Was going to delete this but someone else is going to have this issue:
http://www.shulerent.com/2011/04/04/getting-fingerprint-reader-working-on-dell-laptop/

Install
Data Protection | Access — Driver Package
Data Protection | Access – Middleware Package
Data Protection | Access – Application Package

Do NOT install
ControlVault driver

Even uninstalling it will not bring the fingerprint reader back. Reinstalling Windows now. Woops. LOL

Reading the Dell.com download info for the Control Vault driver:

"This release will ONLY install the driver for the Dell ControlVault. This will eliminate the yellow bang from Device Manager and will allow firmware upgrades. This will NOT allow any Dell Data Protection | Access functionality.

For this functionality, you must still install all required components of Dell Data Protection | Access"

:) It is advisable to browse the download notes... they often contain helpful clues.

Reading the past few pages, I'm shocked but not surprised to see build quality issues. Dell's not exactly known for flawless launches as of late, and IIRC the panel on the previous E series systems is similar. I've personally had trouble getting them back on fully on E6400/E6410 models when installing quickly but once on they were solid.

I heard mention that there is no ALS this time around...true?
