GK: It's the i5-2520. I wanted the i7-2620, but looking at the specs, the only differences are the L3 Cache and a few clocks-- oh, and $100.

versavice: I have an optical drive currently.

the DVD player or the DVD writer?...do you notice any flex in the bottom panel underneath where the player is?

Can anyone confirm that with the E-Port Plus docking station (dual head) you can use three displays simultaneously? That is, two external displays and the laptop's screen? I didn't see an answer this earlier in the post.

    TIA

It's the writer. I really can't get it to flex under there, either by the corner or directly under the writer.

Maybe I'm just silly, but even if I align the bottom panel it pops out. Most likely the DVD drive area, just hold the laptop at that corner it will pop out. The other side isn't so bad cause you can tighten the screws to the HDD.

    odie812: I got a similar set-up as you, running a C300 128GB 1.8 :).

See thats what im trying to get at. The standard dvd player (NON-writer) is very very thin and doesn't completely fill the gap between the bottom panel and the drive itself leaving room for the whole bottom panel to flex in that area. Which leaves room for the corner to pop out much easier.

    I've got a DVD-RW and it's still flex, didn't think you can purchase a DVD-ROM

dont even need to purchase it was 50 bucks cheaper! lol but damnit about flex with the writer too. Has anyone considered sending it in to Dell for repairs (as opposed to simply returning it) ? I have scheduled to have my laptop repaired by dell to see what they can do about the corner popping also for a strange bulge under the keyboard. Other than that...I love the laptop lol
