There's no A12 BIOS yet...A11 works fine though.

hmm let's say that i broke some key brackets trying to take off the keys to clean the dirt/crumb underneath.

do you think i have to send that broken keyboard back, if they send out a new one?

i kinda want to keep the broken keyboard for other purposes. LOL

Regular keyboards do not require a return, but backlit keyboards must be returned.

    Hi Guys
Just got one of these with an i7 cpu second hand, can anyone tell me how to unlock/get rid of the password for the bios? The laptop came from a closed business and I cant get into the bios at all.

You have to contact tech support and they can help you with that request. Just give them the service tag and they can give you a password to use. At least thats the way it used to work...

If you can prove that other company went under, then I see no reason why Dell would not help you.

When you contact Dell Support, they'll ask you for the name of the company it is registered to. If the information you provide matches what they have on record, there should be no problem.

You should also transfer ownership so that this won't be an issue in the future.

    Good evening.

I am having two issues with my Dell E6410 that I hope you guys can help me with.

The first problem is that the service igfxsrvc.exe is opening and closing itself within seconds, repeatedly, from the moment my OS loads (Win XP/SP3) and only stops when I shut down the system.

I noticed this because the mouse cursor continuously changes from the default one to the hour glass(when something is loading) and from the task manager I managed to identify this process as the culprit. Is it normal? CPU usage is normal(around 2-5%) by the way.

Another issue, maybe related, is that when I play a movie in VLC(or Media Player as well) and then close the application, the display goes crazy as in I can hardly do anything other than rebooting the system.

I have latest antivirus installed and scan regularly so I very much doubt it's a malicious thing, rather, a video display problem that I'm afraid have no idea from where to investigate.

    Thank you.
