I think the keyboard protectors are made for the non-backlit keyboard, so yes, it's not going to fit 100%.

Yea i think the protector will just you off more then saving the keyboard.

Is anyone using the backlid keyboard from ebay?

do they work well? are the keys evenly lit up?...they run for 17$ and 1 yr warranty

Look for part # WX4JF, not HT514. The difference is that HT514 has all-white keys, and WX4JF is newer and has purple function keys like the regular keyboard.

There's no difference between eBay parts and OEM, so I don't expect any problems unless it's defective.

I bought a backlit keyboard from eBay and it works fine, although I find that I seldom need the backlighting.

Same here, but I got mine because it has a more springy feel and is more quiet.

O i see, thanks for the heads up,

the WX4JF has the fn keys are in a different color. instead of everything in white.

The Fn key, along with all of its associated functions (Sleep, Num/Caps/Scroll Lock, DCP, etc.), are purple. On the HT514 (which is actually an E6400 P/N), all labels are white and it's quite confusing.

Hey guys! i'm new in this forum but i hope that you still may help me:

i recently can't start any dell tools on dell latitude e6410 anymore. as soon as i try to do so, an error message occures, telling me that it either has an "Unexpected fatal error" or someting like "DCP_Power depends on the Dell System manager service (dcpsysmgr.) Obviously the service has not been started yet!", even though i started the service manually.

this is really annoying since i cant update anything anymore and i cant even use the power manager and so on.

Windows 7 64bit is running on my latitude e6410 with an I5 460m and 4gb ram.

i really hope, that anybody of you may/can help. I'll appreciate it!

    sincerely, blubb_blubb
