    Thanks for these photos.

Do you know if the battery and keyboard are interchangeable with the E6400? (It is less expensive to buy an E6400 backlit keyboard off ebay than to pay Dell to include one on the E6410).

    Great thread!

I've ordered mine on April 7 (from Taiwan). Now my order is still being processed. It is kinda slow since my other order on the same day (Vostro Desktop) is already delivered!

dezoris: what is the lead time for this E6410 you got??

    thanks!

thanks for your thoughts and the pictures. I`m happy to see the silver on real pictures. It looks ok (I would prefer it over the 6500-silver), black would have been better, but yeah it`s ok.

Do you see a difference in the blacks? I often read in reviews that the e6400 wxga+ is a little bit „washed out”?

I ordered my E6410 a week ago and at the moment it`s „in production”.

The German website Golem.de has posted some hands-on impressions and photos from the presentation of the 6410/6510 in Munich: golem.de/1004/74380.html

The silver isn't bad, but I actually prefer the black lid from the E6400.

I wonder if you can buy a black E6400 lid and tranplant it to the new machine.

Here are the inside pictures, I will be confirming whether keyboard and batteries are interchangeable with the E6400 in a bit.

I couldn't figure out how to PM or I would have... The first pic has your windows key readable... You probably don't want that...

Thanks for the extra photos. The shape and size of both the keyboard and the battery look to be compatible with the E6400.

The other changes are relatively minor, many as a result of experience with the E6400, such extra cooling vents on the base and rubber bumpers near the hinges. It would have been good to have a bigger touchpad but perhaps Dell are leaving that for the E6420.

To answer a few more questions and final pictures comparing E6400 and E6410

    • Keyboard is interchangable with the E6400
    • Batteries are Interchangable with E6400
    • Palmrests and Lids are NOT interchangable
    • Hard Drive cage on E6410 is re-inforced
    • Cooling is virtually identical.
    • Initial impressions of fan noise and idle cooling seems to be the same or louder than the 6400.
