1645 guys and gals, I hear you too. After we get this addressed for the Latitudes, I promise to see where we stand on the 1645 as well.

Can you please provide a link to this site, just so I can watch out for any pending announcements that there might be in the future regarding this issue?

My work bought 10 E6400s and most of the ones that live on desks, with docks, with 2 LCD monitors attached have their fans sitting on high all day long. We have not hit any major throttling issues yet, but as the summer kicks in we might be seeing more of this, it was 38oC yesterday and we have only just started the hot season!

No. Its related to temperature. If it was a PSU issue it would happen regardless of temperature.

Easily found on Google, though I wouldn't think it'd be too much to ask for Dell to follow-up here as well: http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/direct2dell/

The PSU issue is in reference to what is apparently another issue with 1645's, not the Latitudes.

Its been a while since I tested this whole issue. I can confirm that in my case (E6500, BIOS A16, Win7) that I'm happy with its throttling performance when un-docked- The machine needs to get *very* hot (CPU 80degC+, THM 85degC+) before it throttles.

That said it still takes *ages* to un-throttle, and still throttles when on the dock at about 60degC. *Please* fix it Dell!
