I recently sold my Latitude E4310, which had perfect looks and excellent build quality. Not sure what could I buy now, because E6320 is ugly for my eyes (on picture), have not seen in real life. It also looks thicker than the E4310, is it? E4310 second HDD Caddy compatible with this model or I need to buy new one?
    Thanks!

    Atom,

Why did you sell the 4310? Just tired of it? I have been pondering upgrading to an e6320 myself. I had the same opinion as you when I saw it in pics, but after seeing it in person and putting my hands on it, I really like it. The HDD Caddy from the 4310 would not be compatible as the case on the 6320 is different.

There is a new caddy available which fits the 6320 though if you need one.

Do you like it better than your E4310? How is the thickness?
I sold it, because the graphics part was very week and I need something more powerful. Personally I would buy something AMD Llano based laptop, but those do not have premium quality 13 inch versions, so I need to stick with Sandy Bridge.

I'll try to put up some side by side pics later today if I get time at work.

I was wondering if any of the E6320 owners knows if the laptop supports a SATA III connection. I suspect that Dell would not preload this thing with a SATA III SSD(?).

As far as I am aware the specs of the E6320 are a SATA-II / 300 interface.

Our E6320's arrived with a Samsung 128 Gb PM810 SSD. This model is from autumn 2010 and has a Samsung specific controller. (So no sexy Sandforce controller). Its most outstanding feature is the low power consumption -and is very thin-.

Still the Windows 7 Experience Index is a good 7.6 and combined with an i7 the time between power-on and "I can work in Windows" is 30 seconds. Which is pleasantly fast.

In case you really would want a SATA-III / 600 interface: there are a few ExpressCards on the market, supporting SATA-III. But of course intended for external harddisks:
6G 2 Port eSATA ExpressCard 34 from Addonics

Hi, Can anyone tell me is there another way to get an SSD in this machine other than Via the optical drive caddy or internal drive ?
Ive heard Msata wont work? any other solution ? I only need something fast for my OS, then a 1tb drive in each Optical and Internal slots.

As far as I know, none of the E6x20 Latitudes support mSATA, so you're kind of SoL if you want more than two drives. You could try those 2.5" SATA to 2x mSATA RAID cards, but you'd have to buy multiple 1TB mSATA drives, etc.

Alternatively, the new WD hybrid SSD/HDD drives have a 120GB SSD with a 1TB spinner in a 2.5" package and as far as I know they do show up as separate drives...

Thanks, Which Raid cards do you mean btw ? do you have a link.

Yes the hybrid drive looks cool and Is a brilliant idea, I think I found a Solution now
    It looks like the
    Seagate STDR2000200 2TB Backup Plus
    and STDR2000100

Contain 2TB 2.5" 9.5mm Drives, so I will buy one and take the drive out hopefully!

Ill have one of those in the Caddy and an SSD in the main Drive bay. Happy Days
