May I ask how the heat is with that 2620m in there? I ended up getting an E6420 because I was concerned about the i7 in a 13" machine; but the E6320s are dirt cheap on the outlet right now, so I'm curious.

I'm running mine docked and the average idle temp is is in the high 40's C. The fan only comes on under high load (i.e, during a 15 minute image process) and then relatively quickly turns off as the machine returns to normal temp's (I don't know the temp under load - never checked). Normal useage, the fan hardly ever comes on. O.K., I just ran a cpu intensive missile simulation. The highest temps I saw were in the high 70's C (steady state with the fan on high). When the sim was done, the temps came back down quickly and the fan shut off within a couple of minutes. FWIW, SpeedFan doesn't read the fan speed.

When undocked, the laptop never feels hot.

I got a 3Cell main batt and a 3cell expansion bay battery so I Didn't have to have the 6 cell protrude.. it makes the whole thing more compact.. for the most part I don't use the dvd drive anyway..

I get around 6hrs.. but I got a i3-2310 (which is fine, its my lugging around computer) in mine with 128Gb SSD and 4GB ram for now... backlit kb and all.. I got it off the outlet store for $980 or so after tax.. good deal in my opinion.. love it so far

 

Does anyone have a part number for the USB-3 bay module? Got 6320 from the outlet and wanted to get USB-3 option. Btw, still seems silly not to have USB-3 on modern notebook built-in but hard to argue with Outlet pricing on good quality small laptop with 3 year warranty (paid $650 shipped/tax for i5 version).

Also, how did you locate the battery on Dell's site? Can't find anything on it!

I received it today, came in pretty quick, ordered it last Friday night with regular shipping. The build is really nice. There is almost no flex, just a tad on top of modular bay, there are no creaks, askew parts, materials are nice. Ports amount is pretty good, esata, usb-2, SD card, express slot (hello USB-3/whatever), 1GB LAN, even smartcard and port replicator.

The screen was much better then reported, IMO. Yes, it's not hugely bright, but at 75% - 100% brightness it's more then enough. It's visible well in sunlight. Also, laptop does get a bit warm on left side (installing bunch of applications right now).

I have initialized it, been installing apps, uninstalling apps (almost no crapware, excepting Trend AV), running updates, and so on for last 3-4 hours and got about 1.5 hours remaining. This was on wi-fi.

The only downsides so far are that there are no USB-3 ports and that 6-cell battery protrudes. Considering that this is pretty sizable for 13" laptop they could have done something about the battery and made it fully integrated. That said, neither of these is a huge deal, and considering price was under $650 with 3-year warranty with a business laptop build.... I am not complaining one bit.

I do have Kingston v-now 96gb SSD, newmodeus cage and DVD cable and 8GB of RAM on the way, along with 3-cell bay battery and USB-3 bay module. I was going to get express card USB-3 card from Amazon/NewEgg but bay module cost was very close (Dell in chat threw in 20% discount on battery and USB-3 module after I pressed them).

Oh, and both of those items are not available online, but you can call small business number or do online chat to get them.

 

I would love to know this too. Got SSD coming and going to push regular HD into modular bay... but then I can't have my bay battery or USB-3 at same time. So would love to be able to put in msata Intel 80gb.

Edit: So, I opened the system up to put in 8GB RAM that came in. There is an empty WWAN slot that looks about 1/2 size, but I am not entirely sure. You can take a look at it at the following link:

I'm not sure why this laptop isn't more popular? I work in IT and we are a Dell Shop. We primarily use 13" form factors. When I first saw pics of the e6320 I wasn't impressed, being a fan of the e4310, but after seeing it in person, it's great! I really feel like it's a step up from the E4310 which I really like.

Pro's
- Nice sleek design
- Awesome Thinkpad style keyboard (it doesnt flex) and I really love the feel of the keys. Best Keyboard I've ever used on a laptop
- I am a big fan of the rubbery palm rest
- Good battery life
- 3 year standard warranty
- Going for super cheap ($600 shipped) from the Outlet
- Little to no screen flex
- Solid construction

Con's
- Sub par screen(but livable and fits the price range), bad vertical viewing angles

Well if anyone has any questions or anything about the e4300/4310/6320, let me know as I have used all of them extensively.

Yeah I'll take a look although I think we have the Intel Wi-Fi card in ours.

 

This is the Mobile Broadband Card (Internet access via cell phone providers), not the regular wireless card (I have the Intel 6300 card for that).
