If they did not mention, there should not be any additional cost. They need to get your agreement before charging you anything.

idk...i just got my 1500 today and i was playing UT3 and it crashed...the game froze and it turned black..so i just held down the power button and restarted. No errors when it rebooted..and i was wondering if it was heat but people told me today that 1500 dont have heat problems unless something is wrong with it...they just told me to update my gfx card cause i just got my 1500.

I believe you were asked to update your GPU driver. Dell usually ships machines with stock drivers that are not optimized for gaming and in some instances and cause crashes. Also, if you are worried about the temperature use an application called HWMonitor (more accurate GPU temp reading), and i8kfan (seems to read a lower temp for GPU only) to control the fan built into Dell laptop. i8kfan has some pretty neat features like you can set profiles that control what temperatures range will trigger the fan and at what speed. I use it regularly to regulate my GPU temp while gaming, just make sure to apply an offset available through option menu. (get the correct temp off HWMonitor).

Congratulations! I am wondering what really fixed your system, motherboard change or cleaning the dust. Did he tell anything about this.

Well honestly I think it was all about the dust.
I have been monitoring this for a while now.
And the fan seems to suck in the dust under the notebook like a vacuum.
So whenever I use it on my bed for example it sucks in all the dust from there.
But if I blow into the fan all the dust flies out, so there shouldnt be another need to open the notebook for a while.

Oh and my notebook has suffered from a high fall now as well, when I was on the airport it fell out of my hand to the ground ( around 100 cm free fall on a hard ground) and some pieces of the magnesium of the cover broke off.

Over than that its still in perfect condition and I love this thing.

Has anyone tried playing Fallout 3 so far?
I get decent results inside, but it lags like hell outside! Gonna try overclockin the system for now!
