    Does anyone know if the HDMI port is capable of higher than 1080p resolution? It would seem silly to have to use VGA for my 1920x1200 monitor.

    If not then the thinkpads are starting to look more attractive now...

    Please suggest if paying $300 more for vostro 3560 over vostro 3550 is worth the price.

    I would not do that, wait few months until the old parts are sold out, than you can buy a new model for significantly cheaper;) .

    Just a heads up my brand new Vostro 3460 seems to run very hot. The fan is on and all that it is doing is web browsing.

    It's because Ivy Bridge APUs are hothead regarding to their manufacturing process, need to wait for the Trinity APU version to see cooler operation.

    ray4jc can you tell us more about the batterylife of the 3460 , i'm looking for a new laptop for college and i like dell so i'm looking to the 3460 and 3360 :)

    I have not been able to use the system that much but with screen brightness as 20% and web browsing it shows 4.5 hours on 100%.

    Have not used it more than an hour or two at a time.

    Will try and get a better idea and post back.

    For some reason my new 3460 is not recognizing the charger (when plugged in the charge light flashes between white and amber) and at boot up it shows a message and beeps saying something about battery not recognized.
