My M6700 shipment is also delayed "due to a parts shortage". You said that "My M6700 is on its SIXTH order.". Do you mean that your order was scheduled but then delayed by Dell SIX separate times or do you mean that Dell had to upgrade your original order (to IPS, etc.) with six different parts because they did not have the parts on your original order in stock?

How much RAM does he have in there and how many SODIMMs? If there are 4, try with just two.

I love you man, Worked perfectly!

    Now I have another question,

Does anyone have any experience putting GTX670's into a M6700? Would it work ect.

I haven't seen much on people trying this with the M6700, but the M6600 seems happy to run with a GeForce card for the most part (there are details scattered throughout the M6600 thread) so I suspect the same will be true with the M6700.

I believe there are a few threads of people upgrading the M6600 (it should be the same)...

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...685461-dell-m6600-4000m-gtx-680m-upgrade.html

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-latitude-vostro-precision/657758-m6600-plus-nvidia-670m.html

And you ask, you can upgrade the IPS panel too...

Actually, only one of my orders was cancelled due to a parts shortage. My third order placed was for a covet. I was upgraded to a covet to make up for the earlier "order processing" issues and the 3940XM part number snafu (resulting in canceled order one and two); however, this was not meant to be since apparently the covet chassis was backordered for about a month so a new order had to be reinstated (for a non-covet). That new order had some incorrect parts and it was missing the 4 year accidental coverage (I did not notice this until the fifth order). A couple more cancelled orders later and I was upgraded to an IPS screen and a Bluray drive:thumbsup:.

It was a bit of an ordeal, but all things considered, I came out ahead, so I really don't have any complaints. So far, my M6700 has been flawless - I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop ;) - but so far so good.

I installed two Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) 1866Mhz DDR3 SODIMM CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10 kits in the M6700. So far so good. I've seen none of the problems in the smaller 8GB (4x4GB) 1866Mhz CMSX8GX3M2A1866C10 kit mentioned in this thread over at Corsair's forums and reported in our forum here but it is too soon to call this memory safe.

Note that HWiNFO64 and CPU-Z are reporting the sticks running slightly below the rated 1866Mhz speed. One of the reviewers at NewEgg noted that his RAM was running slightly slower until he manually set the the timings (something we can't do on the M6700). I don't see this as a long-term problem if Windows is stable.

For what it is worth, I am running the lastest A06 BIOS (Dell could have implemented a fix from earlier BIOS revisions, perhaps?) and an Intel Core i7-3940XM.

I'll run a battery of torture tests on the memory today and see if I can get the system to crash. If there are any suggestions for the types of "burn-in" tests I should run on the RAM then let me know. My experience tells me that bad RAM can show up fairly quickly through normal usage even though it may pass all the tests so I'll put the system through its paces. I'll also run the same benchmarks that Bokeh ran in his phenomenal review.

My advice to U.S.-based buyers is to get this memory from Amazon until it is proven to be stable because of the ease of returns (free return shipping and an extended holiday return period).

    EDIT:

    Tested with SiSoft Sandra 2012:

    Float Memory Bandwidth:
    24.011GB/s Corsair 10-11-10 @ 1866

    Integer Memory Bandwidth:
    24.021GB/s Corsair 10-11-10 @ 1866

    Compare with Bokeh's numbers:

I also got an email back from Kingston:

Thank you for your interest in Kingston Technology.

There are plans for a 16GB 1866Mhz SODIMM HyperX kit, but further information, including the release date, has not yet been provided.

I suspect we'll see it fairly soon. If history is any indication then it'll mostly likely be CL11 rather than the more aggressive CL10 in Corsair's sticks.

    Thanks for the great info!

I wonder if a command rate could be changed to 1T in M6700?

My M6700 is still in production.

[Edit] Misread, thought we were talking about individual 16GB modules, and I was like, whoa, those are on sale now?
Anyway, awesome that there is a working 32GB 1866Mhz configuration for the M6700.
