I wonder how many of the parts have been updated from the M6600 IPS panel swap thread. With that guide it should be easy to figure out a list.

All of the accessories (see sig for partial list) have come in except the Gobi 3000 card and UJ-262 Blu-Ray drive. Two more weeks until the M6700 is delivered. :(

Make sure to inspect it thoroughly when you receive it just in case.

An update on the "focus stealing problem" I reported earlier in this thread, as I have been using 306.97 for almost a week. I thought it seemed to be much better, but then I did notice it a little. So I did a little experimentation, and I am pretty sure it's IE 9 causing it, not a driver - even though the focus stealing would be seen with multiple programs.

I use Chrome as my browser, but I need IE for a couple of web sites. So in the past, I would leave IE running but minimized, and use it when I need it (copying a URL to it for example). So I changed - I added a Chrome extension that is "Open link in IE" when you right click over a URL link in Chrome, it brings up IE 9, I do my work, and then I close IE 9 right away. Doing this, for about 4 days I have not seen any focus stealing!

And 306.97 seems to run well - no problems at all.

Well the 6700 doesn't have a gaudy lighted advertising logo on the lid? Other than that, the machines are pretty much identical in terms of capability. Look towards aesthetics, conveniences, connectivity, keyboard, battery life, warranty, service, and of course price, to make your decision.

I haven't had this issue pop up all week. (Also, I very rarely have IE open.) Not calling it fixed quite yet since it was a rare occurrence.

Also, unrelated, I noticed that the Windows 8 touchpad drivers from Dell have some Windows 8-specific functionality. Swipe in on the lower right corner of the touchpad to reveal the charms bar. Swipe in on the lower left corner to switch apps (if you have multiple metro apps running). This is like swiping in from the right or left side of a touchscreen.

    hello

i have a problem with my m6700 covet. the other day i was using it and when i was done i turned it off and put it on my desk, the next day i go to turn it on and i hear the fan running and was just waiting for the screen to turn on and show something, i waited and waited and it just stayed black as if it was off, i plugged it in an external display and i can see my desktop but my laptop screen just stays off. what can the problem be? its the ips panel if that helps with anything.

    thank you

I doubt it'll make a difference, but have you tried Fn+F8?
