Not yet, but I'd like to. I have to jump through a lot of hoops to get funding for this behemoth, and so far the powers that be have me on hold. From everything I'd heard and read so far the 6700 is the perfect solution for portability and power.

You are correct in you decision of the K3000/K4000 as Photoshop Extended CS6 (if you don't yet have it, get it) can now leverage all of the power of the GPU if need be.

The lesser of the two GPUs should be more than sufficient for still photography and all but the most demanding video work. I've seen last generation Quadros playing 8 simultaneous HD videos in CS 6 without any lag or studdering.
There is some info left out Aaron44126. Yes, adding glass increases glare, but it also adds vibrance, and clarity, and induces richer blacks to the display.

The glare is something we've lived with all our lives, but as long as the environment can be adjusted, it won't be an issue. Most editing bays are pretty dark places anyway.

Guys, any update on IPS+ATI M6000? Plans for a new ATI firepro (better than M6000)?

    Thanks

I'm trying to understand how the monitor is made. Is the glass the actual panel or is the panel another layer. In other words are there 2 layers that you are actually looking through?

    Thanks for the info Aaron44126!

I'm going to be throwing on Windows 8 on my m6700 when I get it in a few days. Are Win 8 drivers posted on Dells site yet for the m6700 or did you just use the Win 7 drivers?

Also, was there any order or sequence you installed everything froma clean install?

Anyway you can post a mini-clean install guide?

Any and all info would be truly appreciated!

Sending you a PM as well!

    Thanks in advance!

By your posts suggesting you've turned on Optimus, I'm guessing you have the non-IPS display or did you find a BIOS hack that allows that option?

A BIOS hack which upscales the Intel GPU video output from 8-bit to 10-bit? :D

Really? How would that be accomplished? Wouldn't at least a firmware update be required? And the repercussions?

Otherwise, I'd think that if that modification were possible, and seemingly that simple, Intel would have made it accessible OEM.

Unlikely, but not totally implausible. If one could just ensure that the extra 2 bits (stuck at 0) go on the least significant side...
