I like being the early adopter. :-D
It definitely has some rough edges yet, but they are patching regularly (got a big patch Friday and another yesterday). Technically, even if the RTM build is done, it's not generally available yet. For most people (who don't care to be on the "bleeding edge" and don't want to fight with issues), I'm going to be suggesting waiting at least 90 days after GA before upgrading. However, you probably want to consider taking advantage of the "free" offer which is in place if you upgrade within the first year of availability.

About my earlier comment that Windows 8 GPU drivers don't work. Turns out they do, just Windows 10 uninstalled them automatically during the upgrade (presumably to make room for new WDDM 2.0 drivers, which do not work with earlier versions of Windows). There is not a WDDM 2.0 driver available yet for the Intel GPU, so if using Optimus you have to use a Windows 8.1 (WDDM 1.3) driver. Optimus is having issues for me — the NVIDIA GPU stays in the lowest performance state P8, so 3D performance is poor.

Not sure if it was a fluke, or if one of the daily Windows Update rollup patches fixed something. I haven't changed any drivers. But I checked today and the NVIDIA card is working fine in high performance mode.

    Regular drive or mSATA?
(Drives are ordered by user review score in the search results, which I find to be a good starting point for selecting a drive.)

I've been using a Samsung 840 (regular, not EVO) in my M6700 and it's been just fine for a bit over two years. I hear nice things about both Intel and Samsung.

In my M4800 I have a Crucial M500 mSATA drive.

Just installed the July 29th Windows 10 drivers on an M6700 Covet. The display color on battery no longer has any issues with brightness dynamically changing. It also allows full 10bit color support.
