I thought the LG spec was exceptionally good except for that flicker. If not for that I would've enjoyed it.

In m6600 only one lg panel series got flicker on low brightness but you could have RMA it. I have had it in my first m6600 and received lg replacement of different revision with no flicker. Its been 3 years now and it is still going stronk.

If anyone wants i could take a look at my older correspondence with dell and check for exact name.

The TN panel in my first M6700 was an LG Philips. Both viewing angles and color reproduction were very good. Unfortunately, it had some problems with setting screen brightness and detecting the Bluetooth module, so I returned it.

The IPS panel in my last M6700 was also an LG Philips. This is still the best panel I have ever seen in a laptop. Excellent viewing angles and color reproduction.

I haven't noticed any flickering on mine. That said, it might be a different revision of the panel or I am less sensitive to it. IT could also be different panel revisions, mine is LG Philips LP173WF1 and I know there have been a few variants of the LP173. So far, it is one of the best TN I've seen, the AUO in my previous laptop was also pretty good.

Hello all, can I use an M6500 battery with my M6700? Will I set everything on fire? Or they don't even match?

    Thank you,
    Pablo

M6500 and M6700 have different case designs; the battery will not fit. (M6600, M6700, and M6800 should all be compatible, as well as the corresponding M4x00 models; but I don't recall if anyone here ever tried swapping batteries between these generations.)

    Upgraded to Windows 10 (final).
Everything seems to work fine. Windows 8.1 drivers work with Windows 10, except the graphics card driver. You can get the new NVIDIA driver from nvidia.com (it also just popped in through Windows Update).
Will be running it through its paces over the weekend.
