Are you talking about the 353.62 drivers available on NVIDIA's site? Are you running Windows 10 or something older? I'm still having the dynamic contrast on battery issue on my M4800 with these drivers (and Windows 10).
(I moved my M6700 back to Optimus to avoid this issue.)

Also, make sure you have the display set for 10 bit color in the Nvidia Control Panel.

    Configuration: m6700 on ePort+ dock, driving (2) Dell P2715Q 4K panels thru ePort's 2 DP connectors, win7x64, K3000M

Event: Spilled iced tea on the dock. Got some in the nook just right of the DELL logo. This appears to have smoked the "Video 1" DP port. Known good monitors are not recognized when connected to that port, but are recognized when connected to Video 2.

Apparent solution: Use Video 2 on the dock and the DP out on the right side of the m6700 chasis to drive the two monitors.

Unexpected result: It does drive both monitors, in the sense that I see both of them in "Screen Resolution", and I can successfully display video on either one of them by choosing "Show desktop on 1 only" or "Show Desktop on 2 only". So hardware-wise, the system is in fact driving both monitors. But try to "Extend these displays" and you get "Unable to save display settings".

Attempts to remedy: I've seen this "Unable to save display settings" business many times before. Usually you have to reduce the resolutions, then extend the displays, then increase the resolutions again. But I've tried it 19 ways from Sunday and just can't get it to display to both monitors simultaneously. It seems that somehow, the combo of one DP out from the dock with the DP out from the m6700 isn't quite the same as when it was running on the dock's two DP ports. I googled the "Unable to save display settings" message and tried most of the remedies prescribed on various forums, all to no avail. Note that lid of m6700 is closed and internal display disabled. (active laptop display is a known leading cause of Unable-to-save-settings symptom).

Anyone have any ideas? I'm having a new dock rushed to me but I'm in Mexico at the moment so the logistics are challenging and will take at least a week. I'm dead in the water and can't get any work done meanwhile...

    Thanks all,
    xPat

Any way to use HDMI in the meantime? Undocked, you should be able to use both the HDMI and DisplayPort at the same time.

M6700 should support 4K at 30 Hz over HDMI (if your monitor supports it and has the right connectors and you have the right cables).

    Aaron, you're a life-saver! Thanks so much!!!

I suppose that with the benefit of hindsight, your solution seems "obvious". But I sure didn't think of it till you suggested it.

Back up on 2 monitors now. Thanks again!

You didn't notice any slowdowns with your 840? Apparently, they have a similar problem as the 840 EVO series, but it takes longer time period for the decay to happen (IIRC, it would help if all the data is rewritten about every two months). I have one on a 13" Sony, but I don't use it much to be able to tell for sure, especially since it's in SATA2 mode.

BTW, also have the M500 mSATA SSD on my M6700. Yes, it's limited to SATA2 transfer speed, but works well enough so far.

It's not that straightforward since the graphic cards are somewhat different physically (a voltage regulator on the left side of the card is doubled on the newer cards and thus moved to the right so a part of the heatsink between the two older regulators needs to be trimmed to fit).

I haven't benchmarked it to see if performance has dropped over time, but in my general use it is still SSD speedy, I haven't noticed any issues. CrystalDiskInfo shows 37 TB total disk writes. I have been through some "re-write all of the data" situations, part of the reason that my total disk writes is so high. Just two weeks ago I decrypted and re-encrypted the drive (turning BitLocker off and on again) which would have re-written everything.
