Checked the bios, but there's nothing to adjust afaik.

Anyway, I created a small partition, installed windows on it and the Intel wifi adapter works like a charm with the drivers provided by Dell.

Now - how to clear all drivers and whatnot related to wifi cards from my current installation? I have resetted winsock and it didn't help.

I already got that. I also know this: If Out Of Band Management is disabled, the number is: 3 because you stated it in your post.

In other words, that level of computer technology is "out of my bounds". So I can't answer a question I don't understand: if its enabled? But I can give you the number that's on the yellow sticker. See previous post.

No way... I uninstalled my firewall+anti-virus and it started working :D Guess it was blocking something necessary to switch adapters or something. No idea.

Thanks for the ideas anyway :)

Did you make sure the antennas were properly seated and not damaged?

Glad you got it fixed, nothing beats 5 GHz goodness. I personally use 5 GHz for my gear and the 2.4 GHz network is for <strike>peasants</strike> everyone else. ;)

My motherboard was replaced. After mobo replacement the DELL bios asked once for a number to enable/disable out of band.
The technican didn't know the number to enable "out of band". We guess number: 1

I wanted to know if number 1 is correct?

Happy Thread time then? But what of your firewall?

In other news, I'm considering finally moving up to 4k with the introduction of Dell's new (and mainstream priced) 27" monitor.

Question is, would that one monitor max out my graphics card? Or would there be enough juice left for my present 1440 monitor or even the internal display? There was never any discussion of this since 4k monitors were rare and very expensive at the time of the unit launch.

In 3D applications there will be a performance drop, I just noticed that on my M4800 (Quadro 2100KM) with the QHD+ display (which is 3200x1800). In 3ds max and my personal benchmark scene I get 10-16fps in FHD and 8-12fps in QHD mode.

I'm having problems with my smartcard reader. I never spent much attention to it, just installed the drivers when I did a clean install of Windows 7.

Now I decided to use it, but it's very confusing, drivers, software. I installed the Dell ControlVault WBF Drivers, but I can't find the Dell application on the M6700 drivers site.

Is there a tutorial where and how to start with a clean install of windows 7? Did someone of you manage to make the smartcard system work with a clean OS install?

    Thanks
