You have to remove the battery out of the notebook case.

In the battery bay of the notebook case you can find a
small yellow sticker with a black single number

    Hello,

I'm having problems upgrading my wireless from DW 1504 to Intel 6300N. Drivers install ok and all seems to be good, device manager shows the adapter, but it doesn't detect any wireless networks and Intel Diagnostics gives the following error "wireless hardware not bound to transport driver".

I removed the DW1504 drivers via device manager BEFORE removing the card. Opened the laptop up, swapped cards and installed new drivers from Dell website. Also tried drivers straight from Intel, same story.

Does you Intel 6300 have a FRU number on it? It could be a whitelisted one meant for LEnovo or HP laptops that won't play nice with a M6700. I'm currently running the generic 6300 (no FRU on it) and it's working perfectly fine. Mine won't take the Dell drivers, but the ones from Intel work just fine.

Actually, it seems to have a Dell part number on it - D P/N: 04W00N REV A05

Hmm, then the Dell driver shouldn't pose any issues, try a previous version? Also, plug the antennas with black on 1, white on 2 and grey in the middle. If it.s set that way, try swapping the black and white wires. It shouldn't matter, but I've seen one laptop where it did

I checked the Dell accessories store for the same card and the label is a little different from the one on mine, but maybe it's dependant on the revision (hope mine's not a fake, if there is such a thing.. *gulp* :) )

What's interesting that although the Dell download site claims to have version 16 of the driver, the one that gets downloaded is 15.10.
Don't think that the antenna connections matter at this point, it seems to be a driver-card conflict at the moment, but I'll try switching leads. [EDIT]: Didn't do anything :(

There was a time when there was some fake 6300, but that shouldn't be the case anymore.

Okay, so I thought, I'd plug the old card back in to get wifi and it doesn't work anymore as well.. device manager recognizes it but thats it. And it won't toggle enabled under adapter settings.
So it has to be a driver conflict somewhere... don't want to reformat again, its a pita to get everything adjusted the way I want, incl. Solidworks stuff etc. :(

Have you checked the bios settings? (Sorry if you mentioned this already, I didn't retrace)
