Installed fine for me, I did it before the 8.1 upgrade.

I still have the file from before the BIOS was pulled from the site and put back on again, did you dl the bios update before or after it was pulled and put back Aaron?

@Krane, maybe the file got corrupted, did you try downloading it again, since it's signed, you should have gotten a warning though.

I used the one that I downloaded before it was pulled. I doubt they're different but I didn't keep my copy to compare.

Actually, I was not logged on as administrator. Duh! Anyway, the update was successful. Thanks.

Guys, a word of advice please,
I installed an K5000m in my Dell M6700 and my temps are 82-83 Celsius after 5 minutes in Furmark (I ran the 15 minutes 1920x1080 benchmark)... my ambient temperature is 26-27 Celsius.
In gaming (Guild Wars 2) it's around 68-70 Celsius.

Can you please run Furmark for 5 minutes and tell me where the temperature settles (if you have K5000m)? Please specify the ambient temperature also.

    Thank you !

Thanks, was afraid you're going to point that one out as I found somewhere that it fits the M6600/M6700, but the problem is they don't ship it outside the States. I also need it just for slight scratches protection while inside a bag or a backpack.

Furmark is an extreme stress test. Why would I want to do that?

Do any of you have problems with programs taking control of the screen? I frequently have programs "take control"--as in, when I try to switch to another screen, the program that "takes control" stays on top unless I minimize it. It seems to happen most commonly with memory hogs like Chrome, Illustrator, and InDesign, but I've had it happen for everything from Windows Explorer to AutoCAD.

I wouldn't be posting here, except that I just had my system replaced due to a faulty LCD screen. (The whole process took six weeks--what a nightmare!!!) The new system has near-identical hardware and likely has the same image of the OS (Win 7 Pro 64bit), but I did a clean install of all my work software. The new machine is having exactly the same problems.

    Your suggestions are much appreciated!

You are still waaaayyyyy below dangerous temps for your GPU, so I wouldn't worry.

Even though I think those temperatures are not dangerous, they're higher than I experience with the K5000M. I've never been able to get it above the mid-60's (and I've done Furmark), even with it overclocked 20%.
