Excellent. If you want to run and post test results even better.

I found a nice deal on a m6700 but it has the 1600x900 screen and m6000 graphics. I was wondering if it is possible to replace this screen with the IPS one? I have not problem doing the screen replacement - the part will run about $115.

It's not a drop-in replacement. Installing the IPS screen means not only replacing the panel, but you also need a thicker top piece of the chasis to hold it in, an interposer board, and two cables (motherboard->interposer and interposer->display). There's a thread on doing this with the M6600. M6700 will be similar but I'm not sure if the part numbers are the same.

Thanks - I thought there might be more to it. Do you know if the 1920x1080 is a standard drop in replacement?

I believe it is. Just follow directions for replacing the screen in the manual (available on the Dell support site).

Is there a way to overide the fans so they run all the time? I tried the dell fan control software bit it will not run in win 7 64? It really warms up when cpu is at 70 percent for hours at work while docked

on my M6700, I have a power profile called "Ultra Performance (Max Fan Levels)"

that sounds like it will run the fans all the time. However, I just tried it from balance to Ultra performance and I did not hear the fans go on.

There's also this option in the Windows power settings. If it doesn't work, I can't think of anywhere else to look.
