    Thanks Tijo and Krane .

just spun myself out reading this entire thread and managed to get dell down to $2485 Au with premier screen and m6000.

It was mentioned in thread that the m6000 wont provide 10 bit colour to the panel . And krane you say i'll need a quadro to run external 10 bit monitor?
Is this true that the m6000 wont suffice for either premier color screen or external monitor at 10 bit ?

    Thanks again.

I had my weekly spliff yesterday and realised i woukdnt be happy till id done the wide gamut 10 bit thing decided to order. Was interesting to say the least trying to deal with Dell off my face but managed it in the end . Those dell workers seem a little stressed imo. He chucked in windows 8 pro which was nice.

Also did a search and learnt I have 3610qm cpu to go in with 16 mb of ram from my broken clevo which will be a little better than the dual core.

Im thinking all things considered seems like pretty decent kit for the money so im happy.

    Cheers

Changing the CPU will require a bit of disassembly though, be prepared to remove the back panel, drive, keyboard and palm rest to get access to the CPU and heatsink. Too bad the access isn't more direct. also be sure to keep all those screws, there are a lot of them. Screws hold things in place a lot better than plastic latches. ;)

I made a quick guide for those wanting to change the heatsink, procedure is the same for the CPU with the added part of removing the CPU from its socket and inserting the new one: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...ision/710800-m6700-heatsink-swap-repaste.html.

Actually, I'm more concerned with the GPU. How difficult is that to change? Does it involve similar disassembly and copious screws? And does it include removal of the heatsink as well?

Gpu Heatsink is either 1step before or after cpu heatsink, (not digging manuals). Obviously the Heatsink always need to be removed if you want to change cpu/gpu.

    Hi,

    I have M6700 (i7-3840QM, 8GB/1866MHz) and want to install addtional 16GB/1866.

    Now I found:

    CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10 - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz (PC3 15000) Laptop Memory
    BLS2K8G3N18AES4 - Crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMM 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1866
    KHX18LS11P1K2/16 - Kingston 16GB 1866MHZ DDR3 NON-ECC CL11 SODIMM

    I know:
CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10 may work on some systems but no other information on Corsair com!
BLS2K8G3N18AES4 - they officially must work on M6700 (crucial com)
    KHX18LS11P1K2/16 - no infomation

I prefer Kingston, but is there someone using it on M6700 ?

Please, help me to choose the right RAM !

    Thank you

    (sorry for my english!)

The Corsair is confirmed to work in M6700. Dunno about the others.

The test have confirmed that above 1600 it doesn't matter (in typical daily use), and brand is irrelevant. Choose the one you like, or whatever's cheapest.
