    Thanks a lot.
After a couple days looking for this got frustrated to the point of just ordering a Samsung 840 Pro 256 - to replace the HDD.
I had been reading everywhere that Samsung was going to make this mSATA retail but no one seems to know when.
In the end - probably better to be patient. Seems product demand is there.
    . . .

I have one more quick question for anyone:
The new SSD drive is going to be 7mm thickness which seems thinner than the hard drive currently in the secondary bay; Is a shim/spacer necessary to take up any space, or does it self-center within the bracket mounts and is normal?

A 7mm drive will be fine. Just screw it into the mounting bracket like normal and everything will line up.

Yup, the way the bracket is made, thickness doesn't matter aside from the maximum.

    Hi,
I've recently bought an used m6700 with a 1600x900 resolution display. Is it possibile to upgrade the display to a one with an higher resolution like 1920x1080?
    Thanks.

I have the same readings as you do. However, I put mine in high performance and left it there.

I found that the P0/P8 switch based on the power profile doesn't always work. In particular, putting the machine to sleep seems to break it (sometimes?). It just sticks in P0 all the time.

I ended up with a couple of batch files that changes the power profile and forces the P-State at the same time. I sit at "Balanced" / "P8" unless I'm working on something that needs the power.

I am getting excited my M6700 Covet is supposed to ship on Saturday so it will not be long. It will be quite a jump from the Precision M-90 that I have now.

You may want to try the "Multi Display Power Saver" feature of Nvidia Inspector (right click on the the "Show Overclocking" button). I have been using it for that last few days and it seems to do an excellent job of automatically controlling the p-state.

Okay, so why is my machine now playing youtube videos back choppy (stuttering)? It was working fine before I installed the Dell thing. My readings are all default.
