    I am considering this.

I ordered the M4600 last year but returned it due to the horrible screen tint with the IPS option.

I am reading that it isn't there on the M6700 with IPS, is it true? Can I order it without worrying that it will be plagued with it or other equally annoying defaults?

Also, is the default ATI card good enough to run current games at decent settings? I might wait for the M6800 though, unless there is a good sale on Dell Canada's website.

I don't want this because I have a graphics artist, but because I want a solid laptop with a traditional keyboard and a good screen.

If not Dell then HP. These are currently the only two top players in this market.

HP has chiclet keyboards across the board. I will never touch a computer with chiclet keys. I want a real keyboard. That's a huge reason why I am considering the Dell, with the very high quality IPS screen, form factor and robustness.

The ATI card is somewhat around 650m irrc, but you can stick 680m/7970m in there if you wish to.

These thing never go on sale until they phase out.

Pulled the trigger finally. Software, warranty, and everything together set me back $3900 with the K3000 and 3840 chip...

    Estimated delivery of 2/18!

Ordered it with office 2010, thankfully Microsoft has free upgrade window! :)

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5801&MI_03\7&1eb0f4e8&0&0003.

After a new O/S install (W 7 64 64 Ultimate) with careful installation of seemingly all drivers,
I read in Windows / System Event Log the warning below.

Anybody knows what this relates to?

No, ask to get your keyboard replaced.

    LAPTOP COOLER

What laptop cooler works best with the M6700?

The cooler I was using with my M6500 is not wide enough and the M6700 feet do not rest properly on it and tends to slide.

    Thanks.

Don't think a cooler is really needed as the machine was decided to work on a dock any ways.

I work with the laptop on my lap and a cooler or a cushion is needed.

    The cushion causes cooling problems
