Thank you, but I am little confused because in the description it says anti-glare (less glossy and less reflective right?):

    Copied from Dell config. page:

Screen: 17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD (1920x1080) Premier Color IPS RGB Anti-Glare, Premium Panel Guarantee, USH, Covet [Included in Price]

Anti-glare means matte finish, not glossy, no glare, no reflection, good for outdoors etc :)

    Hello.

I have my eye on a good price on a m6700. Comes with everything that I need expect for the price. Can you please confirm to me that I can swap the standard 1600x900 to the standard full hd 1920x1080 (TN and not 3D) with no extra wiring needed? Do I need anything special other than the screen?

You'll need nothing else other than the correct LCD. I swapped mine from 900p to the AUO 90% Gamut LCD.

I guess I can make a guide for it once it passes the testing stages. For now, I hope you'll understand, I wouldn't want you to fry your motherboard :)

    Hi Guys,
Thanks a lot for all your informative posts.
I'm very interested in to buy a Precision M6700 Covet with K5000M and RGB-LED for my photography works.
Does anyone has a DISCOUNT COUPON for it?
    I will appreciate your help.
    Thank you.

    Hi Guys

I just got my 2nd rebuilt m6700 laptop and I noticed when I ran HWiNFO64 it said that my drive remaining life was at 94% why would this be when it's a brand new system only 1 day old.

After looking into this issue further here is what the results were for the ssd drive.

    Samsung PM830 SSD 512GB

    HWiNFO64

    Total LBAs Read/Write 419855050 (WOW!!!)

    Intel SSD Toolbox

Total LBAs Written = 13.12 PB (Peta Bytes)
Total LBAs Read = 12.38 PB (Peta Bytes)

This is insane considering it's a brand new system. I'm pretty sure somehow I got a used hard-drive in my brand new M6700 laptop.

After talking to tech support they told me that this can happen depending on part availability. If they don't have a new part they substitue it for a part that may have been returned or refurbished. They then do tests on that part and if it passes it is sometimes used if availability is low.

As you might know I was shocked by this and am not impressed. When I pay for a new system I want new parts not used ones.

Has anyone else heard of this or had this problem

    Thanks,
    Jason

I'd raise Hell myself... Send brand new or hold the system... If your going to put on used parts the customer better me notified and given option to decide themselves... Only time they should use refurb is warranty replacement outside of the normal return period...
