The "e" is for "express." It's a mini PCI express card slot. There are two kinds, half-size and full-size. That's a full-size card. There are two half-height slots and one full-height slot in the M6700, and one of the half-height slots is occupied by the wifi card.

Thanks! Do you think there is enough space for the antenna?

If you check this picture at the very top-left, you will see the built-in (black & white) antenna leads for the WWAN card are already present and installed in the system, and yes, this is the IPS version of the M6700:

    WWAN_builtin-antennas.jpg

(Yes I know, blurry picture, it's cropped, I took the picture to show something else. Bokeh has a clear picture of the antenna leads in the first post of this thread, listed under the 'spoiler' pictures)

This was proven wrong: my M6700 with IPS panel (even with Edge2Edge Gorilla Glas) does have the antennas.
And since the sales rep was convinced that it doesn't work I bought my WWAN card separately (DellWireless 5560) and installed it by myself.
Works great and with better reception than the combo M6500 + DellWireless5620...

    Cheers,
    Alex

I wonder if the interference issues between the LG IPS panel and the WWAN only occur with certain cellular frequency bands. Dell and HP both try not to sell IPS with WWAN, so it goes beyond Precision.

Hey guys, new M6700 covet owner here.

Love it, great machine, but I got myself in trouble playing with the BIOS.

I enabled UEFI and disabled secure boot, and now I can't get anything more than a blank screen.

Is there any modifier key I can hold down while booting to get back into the bios, or restore it to defaults?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Press F2 at the "Dell" logo screen to get into the BIOS.

(You can't switch to UEFI without reinstalling the OS.)

    I've run the BIST

And it's fine, flashes through the colors like a champ... just no POST, no DELL logo, no nothing on boot.
I have tried cycling the power, removing the battery, etc.... just need a quick way to revert the BIOS.

My own fault for meddling, but, is there no manual override for the BIOS? Remove the BIOS battery perhaps?

    EDIT: YUP

    thanks!

Great informations, thanks. This card costs 235 Euros ... I wonder what difference might make this price worth the investion ...

Did you connect it with a soldering device?

oops too bad - any further info about this? if it had been already talked in this thread I apologize ... there is no option to search a single thread in this forum
