Can someone with the wide gamut screen please post the monitor INF file that comes with the computer?

I was reading through the M6700 and saw your post.
I have the HP 8740w Dreamcolor IPS with the 1200 screen.
    I just bought a refurbished M6600 IPS.

I have to say that the M6600 looks a lot better especially the colors.
Looks much more accurate without any real adjustment. Both have ATI cards. The only thing that I do prefer on the 8740w is the 1200 type display.

I'm so impressed with the M6600 that I'm thinking of getting the either the M6700 or the Covet version.

I know this is a M6700 thread but it seems from what I have read the M6600 and M6700 displays are very close.

Just spoke to my Dell rep and it turns out that the 3x40 Ivy Bridge CPUs (3740QM, 3840QM, 3940XM) will be available starting on October 1 on both Precision and Alienware systems. He also stated that the Windows 8-supported UEFI Secure Boot option will be a BIOS update away. Finally he suggested that Windows 8 pre-installed from the factory will be an option starting my mid-October.

Everything sounds about right except for Secure Boot. Is this something that can be added through a BIOS update or are we due in for a minor revision of the m6700 (aka m6750???).

I think that can certainly be delivered via a BIOS update (UEFI is already supported anyway), but this is the first time I've heard that they actually plan on doing it. Nothing to do but wait and see. :p

The screens are very close. There were some changes for the M6700 to make the panel more eco-friendly, but I think that is it. Overall, the M6700 seems to have a slightly better look. It could just be that in the 12+ months that LG refined their manufacturing or were able to get tighter specs.

Good timing on this post. My M6700 has been in "Order Processing" hell for the last week. Nothing I did seemed to be able to get it to move...

Anyways, given this information, I have opted to just cancel my order and wait for the 3x40s - I just hope the Oct. 1 date also applies to Dell Canada. At least now I am in contact with a helpful customer service rep who will help expedite my new order once it is placed.

I think UEFI Secure Boot has to be enabled for Dell to put a Windows 8 sticker on any machine pre-installed with the OS.
