I live in a town in the mountains. As of 10:30 this morning, the OUTSIDE temp is 72f/22c. The room I was in was probably 67f/19.4c.

Added picture of K5000M driving 3 Dell U2410 24" monitors + the workstation monitor for a total of 4 screens. This is an IPS system without Optimus enabled.

By seeing your picture, I have a question^^

On the M6600, the buttons for sounds (If I correctly remember, Mute / Less / More) wasn't equiped of any "light", it seem that the M6700 does, right ?

There are lights in the buttons now. There are also not the reflective chrome-like surface. The look more like stainless steel or brushed aluminum.

    Hello all,

as I switched to dell with the new M4700, ordered already and hoping for the best I also have one question. Does anybody know if the aftermarket hdd caddys for the optical bay from the M4600 do also work in the M4700???

The optical drive is a standard "ultraslim" 9.5mm drive... So I imagine there are quite a few caddys that will fit, including those that work with the M4600.

Thanks Bokeh, it really seems that the M6600 was a kind of "Public Beta" and the M6700 the real release ;)

Will see that by myself... when I will receive mine^^

I talked with Mano about this. Dell really does listen to their customers. They went over every detail on the M6600 and looked for places to make improvements.

Lighted buttons for the vol and mute is a very small thing, but at 5:30am on a random dark February morning when I am waking up to post closings due to snow and ice, I will like having that button illuminated so that I can hit mute if any sound even starts to be made as Windows starts.

I need to put my list of little improvements up on my review. Everything from a better wi-fi switch and battery release to fans that you can remove in less than a minute to clean. The BIOS settings are also extremely geeked out.

The Graphics card is a HUGE upgrade. The CPU is a nice upgrade. What you don't know is that Dell is allowing the M6700 to pull 25 more watts to make sure everything runs at full turbo speed all the time. The M6600 would top out at 190 watts from the wall. The M6700 peaks at 215. But it is also capable of doing normal work and only pulling 35 watts.

The M6600 was and is a great machine in my opinion. The M6700 is just up on a whole other level.
