    8770w isn't more spacious than M6700 at all. It's just happened to be more convenient, no BIOS limitations, no heatpipe in the way, an eDP output, no latch on the MXM socket and enough space for the extra parts on GTX 1070

    I meant more spacious around the MXM slot as this MSI card would not fit in the M6700 where the MXM slot is at the edge.

    Okay you will need to flash the vBIOS to some early version.
    the EEPROM of pascal cards use 1.8V, be careful.
    Currently there's no solution for brightness control and DP output
