should be sata2 but the real-life performance difference would be negligible if using ssd's.

    EDIT and APOLOGIES:

I'll leave my original text below for transparency's sake.
The information provided to me was incorrect. While the drive is spec'd at SATA III, the connection is SATA II. This is why you will see SATA III in HWInfo but only get SATA II throughput. To clarify and reinforce, we did not self certify the mSATA port at SATA III. I'm very sorry for the confusion. Please accept my apology.

    Original text:
The primary and secondary HDD ports are SATA III. The mSATA port is also SATA III. Intel only certified 2xSATA III, but we have figured out a way and have "self-certified" 2xSATA III + mSATA at SATA III speeds.

On another note, I'm going to float this out there. We normally do a Google+ Hangout around launch day on my side of the house here in Consumer and Small Business with the product planning lead for the product we launched. The planner for Precision is interested in doing the same. The way it works is we have an MC and the planner on the Hangout, and fill the remaining 8 seats on a first come, first served basis. We also have a simulcast on YouTube. You can post questions in either format and have the option to speak up if you are one of the first 8 to join the Hangout. Would this be something you guys would be interested in?

Just wanted to post an update here about mSata speed.

In HWINFO it shows the mSata drive as being Sata3, but when I test it I am getting Sata2 speeds. Fully pegged out Sata2 speeds, but still Sata2.

I may have misread what I saw in HWINFO and the Owner's Manual may be right. Sorry about the confusion. I have gone back and updated my older posts. I will keep testing, but everything currently points to the mSata drive being Sata2.

That is interesting, why would Intel do such a thing? BTW I guess that is no way how to enable sataIII in a cd-rom bay in M6700? Thinking of 3xSDD raid 0.... :)

Right now you cant get 32GB of 1866, as 1866 only comes in 4GB sticks (4x4-16GB) You can get 32GB of 1600 though, with 2 of these
    Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10

    Here is the 1866 if you want: Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1866 Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX3M2A1866C10

Also check this out for 256GB mSata, cheapest I have found so far, it's basically an mSata Crucial m4 CT256M4SSD3 - 256GB, mSATA Solid State Drive , from Crucial.com

There are no 512GB mSata drives on the market as of yet. For 512GB sata ssd's, the Crucial m4's are a great value, but there are lots of other good options depending on how much you want to spend. (Samsung, Vertex 4??, Intel, etc)

Hello, I've been lurking on this thread anticipating the arrival of the M6700. I'd like to order one with a Qwerty keyboard. I'm based in Belgium & the local Dell site only shows the Azerty version. The old M6600 used to have a Qwerty backlit option, non-backlit standard was Azerty. Tried Dell UK, but they just don't want to know about non-UK customers.

Does anyone know (or based on previous launches) if they're likely to offer extra keyboard customisations options after the initial offerings?
    Thanks

Your best bet is to grab a keyboard separately from the UK or US.

Yeah, I was thinking that would be an option but to be honest, if I have to go down that route I might just go for an HP8770w from an UK reseller. I can imagine swapping keyboards would leave me with a pup if there was a problem. Dell haven't exactly been helpful so far.
