    Jamez,

I see your using the laptop on your lap which is what I'd be doing most of the time. I'm interested to know if the 2 bars running across the bottom make the laptop uncomfortable when its on your lap? I suppose those bars replace the four elevation feet found on your M1330. Thanks.

I believe someone mentioned the Thinkpad W500 in this (or the New XPS 15) thread. I can't find that post however. Presently, I have an old TP W500, and have an order for a M3800 with IGZO display, but I am still concerned about the viewing angle, considering rather differing views expressed in these threads. My W500 is a WUXGA1920x1200 with a very poor vertical, but a rather decent horizontal viewing angle. There is no way the IGZO display can be worse in the vertical viewing angle, but I was wondering if someone can comment on how the two compares with respect to the horizontal viewing angle. I would be quite disappointed with something significantly worse.

    Thanks for any info.

After weeks think to get the M3800. Finally I didn't. Reading all your comments. I saw too.many things I don't like it for the price I must pay. I get the lenovo Y510p, is about 1300 $(4700mq, 16gb ram, SLI 755m) and works great. I get 11fps whit 2, 5k footage on Davinci Resolve using HDD 1TB 5400rpm. I know one is gamer laptop and the other is the workstation, but I don't want to spent that amount of money on the laptop I see is not that good.

There's a very high price to be paid for 1 kg (2-2.5 lbs) lighter and the higher resolution screen, and that price comes in both performance and in dollars (or your local currency.)

For the cost of a M3800 (or XPS 15/9530) you can get a nice-but-heavy gaming laptop (of which the Y510p is probably the best deal right now) and a nice 13" ultrabook for portable use. For many people, that's going to be a better deal.

For some people, the MacBook Pro or the M3800/XPS 15 will be worth it.

I have just watched this video which shows the m3800 running premiere pro and am worried at how small everything looks compared to the macbook. My current dell xps scales premiere pro how the macbook looks with the right proportions. whereas on the m3800 everything was just all wrong . Any ideas , could do with some help as this is what i will be using my m3800 for .

here's the video I referred to - Dell Precision M3800 workstation vs. Apple MacBook Pros - YouTube

    Thank you
