Licensing I suppose. And no one wants to pay for a new port few people have any need for and even fewer products support. Have you noticed how few new products being released even support USB 3.0? Besides, USB 3.1 should be ready by the time the true need for more speed arrives.

Typing this on an M3800. Should I answer questions here, or in a new thread?

    New thread please!

    Q1. Upgradeable components?
Q2. Screen as good as the specs suggest?
    Q3. Weight in hand?
Q4. Build quality compared to regular x700, x800 precisions?
    Q5. Fan noise/heat?
    Q6. Battery life?
Q7. Comparison to XPS 15 Haswell, (whatever is available from specs/previews)?
    Q8. Anything to note?

    Thanks a ton!

There is a common belief that Macs have the best touchpad. How does the touchpad of the m3800 compare withe the one of the MacBook Pro?

That common belief is subjective; for those of us who prefer real buttons (or a dual-pointer setup), the difference can be summed up as "they're both annoying clickpads."
