Thanks to @xklis who gave me the procedure, I'm now able to undervolt with 1.9.0 BIOS. I've followed these steps:
    - disable SMM Security Mitigation in BIOS.
    - Downgrade to 1.0.0
    - At 1.0.0, undervolt still did not work. I restored BIOS default and undervolt did work (factory reste did not do the trick).
    - Upgrade to 1.9.0. Undervolt works fine.

Thanks for this info. I had been holding off in the BIOS upgrade because of the undervolt lock.

Hi everyone, new around here with a precision 7740. Lately I've been having issues with both the laptop and the WD19DC dock that I bought along with it. Laptop doesn't detect charger and I doesn't even charge from dock, which only one light is displayed if both usb-c ports are connected. Did update all the drivers / firmwares / BIOS to the latest version but I haven't gotten any results.

Any ideas on how to solve the previous issues??

Colleague had the same issue with his 7740, the only real solution that worked was to always have laptop on charger before plugging in the dock.

Had that once or twice, that only one light on the double USB-C plug went on. I disconnected the laptop from the Dock, disconnected power from the Dock, rebooted my 7740, waited a few seconds before powering the Dock and could reconnect the laptop successfully. A simple undock/dock without unpowering the Dock did not work.

I handled both the 7740, and the Zbook 17 G6
The 7740 handled better: it felt more solid and premium. The Zbook was bigger and thicker, and felt like it had more empty space beneath the shell.
I wasn't expecting that as some people have commented that the Zbook is more a premium machine o_O

In addition, the depth of the Zbook is 1cm more

Today I was able to update my GPU from T1000 to RTX4000 in 7540 system. There have been some problems or potential problems so I would like to ask if anyone have any advice.

    1. The heat sink has flipping part which is marked with screws number 9 and 10. The new heat sink which I got from ebay had no screws there so my plan was to reuse the screws from the original heat sink but there was also no screws. Right now I installed the heat sink without screws 9 and 10 and this part is definitely moving around there if I shake the laptop. I suspect that the original stayed in place because of the heat transfer pad functioning a bit like a glue. The question is, if you have changed your heat sink did you had those two small screws numbered 9 and 10? Are those important?

    2. I think the heat pad for gpu is not in the perfect shape right now. It was hard to get heat sink inside so that the pad stay in place, so those definitely got damaged a bit but I am not really sure how much exactly they have connection with the elements they need to transfer heat from. I am talking about the pads which I think are for the power supply things (square things close to outputs). Does anyone have any opinion how critical is that? Should I try to get replacement as soon as possible?

If anyone have any advice on those two questions I would highly appreciate that!

Well no one replied to your two posts, but for the next person that will find this by Google search, I bought a nv-256 and will test on my 7740 with RTX3000.

From what I found there are AMD and NV models likely for Radeon and Nvidia and 192 or 256 is likely for 192 or 256 bits, for the RTX3000 it would be 256.

But I will know if it fits by next week. I'll reply back here.

Upgraded from a T2000 to RTX 4000. I've had the 9 and 10 screws, from memory i think those are M2.5x3, and yeah those are needed for proper contact of the mosfets (5 black elements at the top of the card), i wouldn't stress it too much without them making contact with heatsink....

Guys, I have a similar issue since the latest 1.9 BIOS and firmware update for WD19DC. Did the work with the last WIN 10 updates and its been a nightmare.

I can ONLY get my PC to work by disconnecting the battery and booting off the power block, then connecting ONE (closest to the front op PC) USB-C cord for my 3 displays, KB, mouse.

Anything else ends up a mess... from battery not charging to just immediate shutdown...

    PLEASE HELP !
